Blue Fox Theatre Ensemble

Blue Fox Theatre Ensemble Blue Fox is a group of actors/musicians. The Sonoma Valley Shakespeare Company was founded by Artistic Director Aidan O’Reilly.

A Sonoma native, Aidan is the first visually impaired student to receive a B.A. from the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, UK. After three national tours with the American Shakespeare Center, O’Reilly returned to Sonoma in 2011 to direct Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. He brought in the talents of Chad Bradford (MFA, Penn State), Sharon Combs (Los Angeles), and Jocelynn Joy Murp

hy (New York). All these performers have returned to Sonoma this fall for this exciting upcoming season. The Sonoma Valley Shakespeare Company will perform at The Little Theatre on the campus Sonoma Valley High School from September 13th through November 3rd of 2012. This season, the company will provide educational workshops to the students of Sonoma Valley High School. These workshops are offered in collaboration with TSN, the Teacher Support Network, and with the help of Jane Martin, teacher at Sonoma Valley High School and General Manager of the Reduced Shakespeare Company. Each student will have the chance to audition for the Sonoma Valley Shakespeare Company Internship Program. Up to six students will be invited to join the Intern Company and will have the opportunity to perform, understudy roles, or participate behind the scenes. The Sonoma Valley Shakespeare Company is excited to bring professional teaching artists to Sonoma Valley High School to work alongside public high school students. With music and arts programs losing funding and support nationwide, the Sonoma Valley Shakespeare Company understands the need for creative and artistic outlets for today’s students. By working together, the SVSC hope to create a safe atmosphere for students to learn and express themselves artistically. Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 for students and seniors. “What kept me sane was knowing that things would change, and it was a question of keeping myself together until they did.” - Nina Simone

We here at Blue Fox Theatre Ensemble would like to express our solidarity with the activists and citizens of the world who are doing their best to bring about some positive change in our country and on our planet. Racism has plagued our culture for far too long and the time is greatly over due for it to end. In times of enormous risk and upheaval the potentiality is high to bring about enormous good.

Although our doors are closed for the foreseeable future we will be doing everything we can to help those on the front lines and to help spread the word about ways to help.

Additionally as a new company we have the unique opportunity to ensure that uplifting unheard voices and focusing on diverse representation are foundational to our ongoing program.

As the great Joe Strummer said: “I think people ought to know that we’re anti-fascist, we’re anti-violence, we’re anti-racist and we’re pro-creative. We’re against ignorance.”

Stay strong and stay safe, everybody.

We talk to Ian Doescher, author of the "William Shakespeare's Star Wars" series, about rewriting that iconic opening crawl as a sonnet, figuring out what to do with Master Yoda, and more.

“It is not every day that we are needed...”

We’re the Blue Fox Ensemble, a collective of performers proud to reside in Little Rock, Arkansas.

We’re starting off big by offering Little Rock something it’s never seen before: Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett.

First staged in 1953 at the Theatre De Babylone on the Left Bank in Paris, this mysterious, tender and beautiful play about the inextinguishable hope that comes from needing each other has been delighting and confounding audiences around the world ever since.

It’s hard to imagine that, after almost 70 years, our city hasn’t seen this play for itself! We need to fix that. The theatre is booked, the cast assembled, and all we need from you is help raising the initial funds to acquire the performance rights.

Please consider making a contribution toward bringing Beckett’s astonishing work to Little Rock for the first time. No matter how great or small—anything helps!

Help us bring Samuel Beckett's strangely beautiful play about inexhaustible hope to Little Rock, AR! | Check out 'Blue Fox Theatre presents Waiting for Godot' on Indiegogo.
