In loving memory.
Brett was one of Downtowns biggest supporters. Brett was at our doors hours before anyone else when he was just a teenager. Eager to see any band he could. He always thrived within the walls of a concert venue. He, like many of you made lifelong connections and formed his personal style and taste in music at Downtown Music Hall. Later becoming one badass heavy metal slamming machine of a person. We will forever cherish the moments we had with you Brett. Love you.

Today marks 5 years since we closed our doors. Arkansas music never slowed down. No one gave up and the energy still remains. I stand by my words bc it has been proven to be true.

Downtown Music was started bc of Arkansas metal. The emotion and passion has thrived since day one and it still continues to this day. DTM is proud to of hosted 1000s of bands over the nearly 13 year life span. Thank you for the mention in this great article highlighting our metal scene. We miss you all. DTM will never die!

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I must let you know that our good friend Athon has passed away. I will forever cherish the good times and multiple shots of whiskey we shared. This is an extremely deep blow to the metal community. My thoughts are with his friends and family. Love you all..... RIP Athon

I remember the first show I did with Black Tusk. I was blown away not only by their sound and live show , but also by them as people. I had accidentally overpaid them that night , they were spending the night with my good friend Robin. After they realized the mistake, they called and let me know. Needless to say they showed very strong moral character to someone they barely knew. They won me as a friend for life very quickly and everytime they came through it was awesome fun. Last night Jonathan Athon (bass) was involved in a motorcycle accident with his girlfriend Emily. They were hit by a drunk driver. They both remain in the hospital with Athon sustaining major injuries and in a medically induced coma. Downtown might not be a venue anymore but the band's and fans will forever be my family. I ask that you take a moment and send our friend and his beautiful girlfriend some positive vibes. Good people do not deserve the type of pain they are suffering. Love you Athon
