From 9:00AM–12:00PM, stop by the East Parking Lot (corner of Zoo Drive & Monroe) to responsibly recycle, shred, and donate while helping keep Little Rock clean and green!

We’re accepting:
📄 Old documents for secure shredding (5 box limit)
🔌 E-waste (anything with a power cord—except fridges & window AC units)
♻️ Recyclables (plastic bottles/jugs, cardboard, paper, aluminum & steel cans, and more)
🛍️ Plastic bags & wrap
🍾 Clean glass containers
🚲 Old bicycles (any condition)
🏠 Housewares in good condition for donation

Please note: Items will only be accepted during event hours—please do not leave donations before or after the event.

🐾♻️ Double the fun this Saturday, June 6, at the Little Rock Zoo! Join us for Southern Bancorp Little Rock Community Day and Little Rock Recycles Day for a day full of family fun, community celebration, and conservation!

For Little Rock Community Day:
• $2 admission per Little Rock resident
• $1 parking
• Proof of residency required (driver’s license, ID, or utility bill)
• All other guests welcome at regular admission

For Little Rock Recycles Day from 9:00AM–12:00PM:
Stop by the East Parking Lot at the corner of Zoo Drive and Monroe to responsibly recycle and dispose of a variety of household items while helping keep our community clean and green. 💚

Items We’re Accepting:

Our playful capybara sculptures have been busy today exploring the Zoo! While we eagerly await the arrival of our real capybaras, these colorful stand-ins have popped up throughout the Zoo for guests to discover.

Created by the world-renowned Cracking Art Collective from regenerated plastic, these bright capybara sculptures are ready for selfies, hugs, and plenty of fun. Can you find all two dozen around the Zoo?

Adopt a Capybara Day!
Today, we are celebrating the upcoming arrival of capybaras at the Little Rock Zoo with the official unveiling of capybara sculptures during our special Adopt a Capybara (Sculpture) Day!

While we prepare for the new capybara habitat—currently under construction—guests are invited to enjoy a first look at an exciting new addition to the Zoo: a collection of large, brightly colored capybara sculptures. Guests can adopt a sculpture capybara as we await the arrival of the real ones!

We’ve partnered with the world-renowned Cracking Art Collective, known for their vibrant animal sculptures made entirely from regenerated plastic. Two dozen custom-made capybara sculptures will be available around the Zoo—ready for hugs, selfies, and sustainably inspired fun.

These playful installations mark the celebration of the capybaras’ return and offer a fun photo opportunity for guests of all ages as we look ahead to welcoming the real animals once their new exhibit is complete.
