Some things break, but that doesn’t mean they lose their beauty.

For this series, I embroidered fragments of a broken teacup onto linen, giving each chosen piece a new life through thread. The broken fragments are then preserved in acrylic boxes beside their embroidered counterparts—a reminder of what was, and what remains.

Resilience is not about becoming whole again. It’s about learning to shine with the pieces we carry.

A teacup, once a symbol of comfort and care, lies overturned. The tea spreads beyond its boundaries, impossible to gather back, leaving behind the trace of a moment that cannot be undone.

Some experiences don’t shatter us all at once—they quietly overflow until they become part of the landscape we carry.

Some stories need closure.

Not because they stop hurting, but because they deserve a place to rest.

This drawing is crumpled, folded, and enclosed in an acrylic box. Every wrinkle carries the memory of a wound—moments that shaped us, changed us, and refused to disappear. We cannot erase what has happened, but we can choose how we carry it.

The transparent box becomes a frame of acceptance. It doesn’t hide the damage; it protects it. It reminds us that resilience isn’t about returning to who we were before the fall. It’s about honoring every crease, every scar, every broken piece, and recognizing that they are part of our beauty.

We are not beautiful despite our wounds.

We are beautiful because we have learned to live with them.

“TEACUP ON PEARLS”Found objects and mixed media, W9” × H7” × D9”, 2026

Feminine, delicate, fragile…An overturned teacup releases an endless flow of pearls — overflowing softly, almost uncontrollably — mirroring the way emotions sometimes spill beyond what we can hold together.
