Lithopolis Honeyfest Friday & Saturday after Labor Day The mission of the Lithopolis Honeyfest is to educate visitors about the art and science of apiculture (beekeeping).

To raise awareness of the importance of the honey bee on the pollination of crops, to increase the consumption of honey, and to educate about the beekeeping industry. With the involvement of honey and beekeeping trade associations, we see this event as a component in preserving apiculture, not just in Ohio, but nationwide and globally. Enjoy a fascinating day of unique attractions - bee beards; honey tasting of all flavors, colors and textures; honey extracting and bee hive inspecting. Meet beekeepers, explore equipment and discover products direct from the hive. See a real queen bee and her colony up close under the glass of an observation hive. Listen to great live music, browse quality arts & crafts, and spend family fun time at The Gilmore Group's Busy Beehive. Scrumptious honey-made food and be sure to sample mead (honey wine) at the mead & wine tasting. Grab a honey brew at the Bloom-Carroll Kiwanis beer garden. Before flying off, take home a memory with a sweet souvenir shirt, fit for a queen Taste of Honey cookbook and stingingly elegant hand-painted glassware. FREE ADMISSION, PARKING & SHUTTLE

We are working on getting photo contest winners announced, so stay tuned!

We had to switch gears and go into emergency shelter procedures twice and then emergency evacuation on Saturday, so we had lots of awesome volunteers pulling triple duty…in the rain! That affected the backend procedures that we’ve used for the last several years. We want to be sure to have all details confirmed before we announce winners.

Thank you for your patience!!

Thank you, Honeyfest Volunteers! Deep appreciation for each and every one. Hope you will return in 2027. 🥰

Thank you to everyone who came out to the 2026 Lithopolis Honeyfest!🐝🍯
☔Despite Mother Nature attempting to ruin our day on Saturday, we still had a pretty good crowd, some great vendors, food, music and a brief moment of sunshine mid afternoon.
✅To our Vendors, Beekeepers, Musicians - Thank you for hanging with us in the pouring rain. We know that this is your livelihood and it's tough when you work so hard to prepare for the day and end up with bad weather. An extra thank you for following our safety protocol when we had to make the call to close early!
✅ To our Visitors - we know that you were disappointed that we had to halt the festival a couple of times when we had lightning in the area and ask folks to shelter. We follow protocol from Fairfield County Emergency Management and your safety is our 1st priority. We made the call to close at 5pm because the radar was showing the next round of heavy rain to begin around 6:00 and it takes us about 2-3 hours to clean up the event. We needed to get the vendors out and our volunteers out safely, so we appreciate your understanding.
✅ To our Volunteers - you are the BEST OF THE BEST! We appreciate you being here and getting soaked with us. We hope you sign up next year!🥰
✅And last but not least - To our Leadership Team - you guys are amazing! We were really tested yesterday and the months of hard work we put in (we start planning in January folks) really showed. Each and every one of you is the reason we have the best event in Ohio and beyond! If anyone out there thinks they have what it takes to be a part of this awesome team, send us a message!
✅MARK YOUR CALENDAR - If you are still reading this, mark your calendar for September 10-11, 2027 for the 20th Anniversary of the Lithopolis Honeyfest. We can't wait to see you there...and in the 🌞

PS....Pictures from the event, additional contest winners and more will be posted once we recover a bit! 🥱Thanks for your patience.
