Award Winning Director and Producer Jibril Haynes teaches the art of Directing in this 6 hour workshop. He details the timeless art of positioning actors for camera shaping mood, texture and timing. Actors and directors are encouraged to take this wokshop as you will leave full of new knowledge and techniques to be used on set immediately.
The Playbook provides an opportunity for emerging filmmakers to gain an education and experience in the studio or independent filmmaking process.
The workshops and master classes are given by filmmaker Jibril Haynes who is an experienced screenwriter and director who also produces and supervises severe animation projects. His first film, Get Yours, won the Kay Bourne Emerging Filmmakers award. and first Book "Fundamentals of writing' is a staple in youth creative writing courses nationally.
Jibril studied scriptwriting and directing at Clark Atlanta University and was awarded a slot in Northeastern University's Fellowship program. in Research in Playwriting by the University of Birmingham. His film "The Plague" was critically acclaimed and used by counselors in many treatment centers for addictive behaviors. He directed Jake's Cyber Adventure and award winning film about cyber bullying. His film " Humans in Traffic" won the Audience Award at the Pan African Film Festival in Cannes, France where "The Plague" also was also awarded "Best Actor" with Mugisha Feruzi playing the lead character Rogi. He has gone on to direct over 300 film projects and stays working to this day.
Jibril has been hired to teach various form of filmmaking across the country for all age groups. He is one of the lead film instructors for the National Student Network, an annual conference teach media and new practices to budding talent. Jibril's silent film series "The Classics" has been a staple of entertainment featured in coffee shops in Europe. Fans in London and Amsterdam love his mixed media approach of Black silent film and Soul music.
