On Sunday, we wrapped up Lisbon Drama Department’s Production of Little Women. I love our program at Lisbon. We’re building something unique. Our students aren’t just actors, but designers, writers, and artists. One of our leads is also the Hair designer. Our entire run crew is our cast. One student showed up show week, became the ASM, and then worked harder than most do in an entire production run. Among our sixteen person cast, four were acting in their first show ever (including Jo and Beth), ten were in their first musical, and three of our named roles were in eighth grade. And they were all amazing.
We lit the fires within us and captivated audiences with a simple set, a brilliant musical direction, a dedicated design team, and sixteen brilliant actors. We assembled an extended March family that was built to last. I’ll always remember the time we brought Little Women to the Lisbon stage. It was ASTONISHING.
