Small World Gallery

Small World Gallery Home of National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson and IBISwoman Jewelry. All are made in the gallery. Sometimes these may be completed in the moment.

Visitors will find that Jim’s many explorations of global issues and landscapes begin and end at the gallery, situated on the brick Main Street of Lindsborg, a culturally rich town of 3,500 in central Kansas. On display are Jim’s large-scale prints of recent work, as well as posters and greeting cards from favorite subjects and locations. Jim, a photographer for the magazine since 1984, said, “I f

eel lucky to have a base for my travels in a small town with big creative energy.” He also teaches workshops, accompanies cruises, and delivers keynote lectures. Also in the gallery Kathy Richardson and Briana Zimmerling offer a browsable collection of antique, vintage and contemporary glass, stone and metals in their distinctive jewelry line called IBISwoman. Guests may select from earrings, bracelets and necklaces from the gallery display tables or collaborate on a made-to-order piece. Kathy Richardson said, “We also love to help our guests discover other great Lindsborg shops, galleries and attractions, as well as our favorite places across
Kansas.”

If you’ve been following the new Lino-cut printing “side quest” I’ve been on, thank you. Today I put out the batch I worked on last weekend. Still a cotton/linen blend, but the majority of this last batch was a lighter weight (oversized) design, working with an under shirt or on its own.

Local plants used in the solar dying process, my own carved designs for printing, and printed right here at SWG ❤️ 🌻

—- Pretty sure my family is hoping my motivation would chill a bit until cooler days, but when it hits on triple digits I’ve got to ride the wave 😉 I started new batch this Sunday with 104°

Wanted to share a glimpse of the process with these solar dyed jackets. These were done on a 105° day, preparing for fall in the peak heat of summer!

New jackets! A new way to show off the sunflower and pollinators. Solar dye, layered with leaves and flowers, then hand printed here at Small World with our linoleum cuts and elbow grease 😉

We will be closed today (8.27.26) and back to the grind tomorrow. ❤️ See you then.

Designs drawn, carved and block printed right here at Small World Gallery by Bri! These postcards are printed on heavy watercolor paper. You have the option to paint before you send, let your recipient paint on arrival, or they can be enjoyed as is ❤️ We love sharing our reverence of pollinator world 🐝

Bethany College and Lindsborg benefitted repeatedly from the hard-earned wisdom of The Rev. Dr. Robert Vogel. Now we say goodbye to Bob, who made hard times a little easier and good times more joyful.

Here is Bob and the equally hard-working and vivacious Sally Vogel as they celebrated St. Patrick's Day at their temporary digs at the Sandzen House.

Excellent illustrations + thought provoking ideas = a new way of reading classics.
