This quilt, which I have finished making for a client, showcases a stunning blue and turquoise front. Its pattern and fabric are beautifully chosen. The project I'm working on isn't personal; it's part of my volunteer work at a center run by a nun where I instruct ladies in quilting. Initially, the plan was to have the group create a quilt for the sister's birthday; however, missing the deadline might make Christmas the new target. I guided the ladies in making individual blocks, which I then put together and quilted. The hope is that the sister enjoys this thoughtful gift.

The client supplied a couple of quilts for her grandkids, with the Pokémon quilt being especially charming. The grandchild specifically asked that the Pokémon fabric be preserved in large panels, so a minimalist quilting approach was adopted to ensure the fabric remained the focal point.
