I was pleasantly surprised last night at the opening of the Paul C. Rhyne Art Competition and Show at the Lincoln Cultural Center. My name was called out three times starting at 2nd place, then 1st place, and finishing with Best In Show. I have never had that happen to me before, but I humbly excepted the awards. After receiving those awards, it gives me continued motivation to keep drawing.

I just finished this drawing of a German soldier walking across a field to the tree line. Not sure of the title yet. It was a perfect picture to draw with graphite pencils. I used 3B, 6H, 2H, and HB Turquoise graphite pencils on a 16”X 20” Canson art board.

I just finished and sprayed this piece, with a workable fixative. I haven’t titled it yet, but thinking about something....

I just finished and sprayed this piece, with a workable fixative. I haven’t titled it yet, but thinking about something. I will be starting a new drawing real soon. I have one more military art photo that I want to draw after that drawing I am going to change my subject matter. This is a 16” X 20” drawing using 6H, 2H, HB, and 3B Turquoise graphite pencils on a Canson art board. Hope you like it.

This is a graphite pencil drawing I finished last week of a Curtiss P-40 Warhawk. It was one of my favorite planes when I was a young boy, I guess because of the shark mouth painted on the fuselage. I enjoyed drawing it, first drawing since February. It is drawn on a 16” X 20” Canson art board.
