Ms. Shari had come to attend to a matter,
Away off stage she flew like a flash,
She threw back the curtains and there was the cast,
Ready to perform at their very best,
To make Lincoln’s Nutcracker better than the rest.
To the wondering eyes of many a guest,
The Drosselmeier so wonderfully dressed,
His wild head of hair all puffy and gray,
Tells this Christmas story in his charming way,
A magical tale of a young girl’s dream,
Flying on a swan through mysterious lands,
Arabia, Spain, the Orient too,
With a queen of snow and a handsome young man,
Visions of sugar plums dance in Clara’s head,
But at the end of it all we find her in bed,
Waking to find it is still by her side,
The Nutcracker toy who had become her prince,
To all the performers, crew, staff, parents and guests LMBC must recite,
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
Good luck to all the cast, crew, musicians, and artistic staff tomorrow!
