At Live Yes Studios, we use art as a lens to see the world, a tool to communicate and a gateway to community membership. There are weekly opportunities to visit local art galleries as well as monthly opportunities to be involved in the Lincoln arts community through First Friday gallery openings.

Yesterday the artists had the opportunity to take a break from making art and go fishing! It’s officially summer over at the studio and LYS took a trip over to Branched Oak. Branched Oak Marina donated minnows and Nebraska Games and Parks gave our group fishing permits. A blast was had by all! 🎣 ☀️

🫪🌟 ONLY 3 MORE DAYS TO GIVE TO LINCOLN 🌟🫪

Live Yes Studios has been hosting art shows for LYS artists since 2011 which feature both group and solo exhibitions. Group exhibitions showcase the work produced from the visual art classes taught by LYS instructors. The solo exhibitions showcase the artists’ self-directed body of work. Each solo show the artist assists our Gallery Manager in how they want their work presented.

Since 2011, LYS has displayed over 120 artists’ work while hosting 126 exhibitions, participating in 46 community exhibitions across 8 states.

In 2018 LYS created a community gallery to host fellow community artists from Lincoln and the surrounding areas. Their work is shown alongside artists working at LYS. Community artists are also invited to give a short artist lecture or workshop related to their process. All artist lectures, workshops, and art shows are always free and open to the public.

At Live Yes Studios, our mission is supporting disabled artists in creative expression, representation and community partnerships.

In 2011, LYS opened in Lincoln, Nebraska as a program under a large nonprofit based in Philadelphia, PA. Without a gap in programming, LYS separated from its parent company and opened as a Nebraska-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation on July 1, 2024.

Live Yes Studios, Inc. is the only progressive art studio in Nebraska, specializing in fine and performing arts instruction. Monday through Friday, we support adults (19+) with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) from Lincoln and surrounding areas. Employing local artists, LYS instructors create an inclusive, professional studio environment to foster creative careers, promote professional development, and provide exhibition opportunities. In 2023, LYS was recognized for its quality arts programming and received the Mayor’s Arts Award for Most Outstanding Arts Organization.

One of our goals this year at LYS that we achieved this past winter/spring was to develop a course catalog for artists to look through to choose classes they would like to participate in weekly. This was created to offer a variety of classes at different times with the artists’s interests in mind to spark creativity and group participation. The courses offered this past winter and spring were:��- Ceramics�- Trace monotype (drawing + printmaking)�- Improv�- 2 DND (Dungeons and Dragons) sections�- Poster design (design + screen printing) �- One Person Show (performance art)�- YesCast (individual artist’s podcasts and Live Yesterday’s News)�- Sewing�- Individual Music Lessons�- Dance / Movement��This initiative was spearheaded by our Education Coordinator and Printmaking Instructor, Patrick Casey, and will continue to develop and evolve as our “semesters” continue. 🌟It’s that time of year! Only 10 days left to Give to Lincoln and support Live Yes Studios this year!🌟

Live Yes Studios, Inc. (LYS) was created by artists, for artists, for the benefit of all and is the only art studio in Nebraska that specializes in fine and performing arts instruction and exhibition for disabled adults. Employing local artists, our instructors create an inclusive, professional studio environment to foster creative careers, promote professional development, and provide exhibition opportunities. During monthly art exhibitions, artists share their perspective with the greater community and are recognized by their creative accomplishments. 

In our first fiscal year as a Nebraska nonprofit, LYS was able to purchase new vehicles, relocate and renovate our new studio space, and raise enough to cover startup costs because of the community’s support and generosity. Our goal for Give to Lincoln this year is to create savings and make investments for the future. We are grateful for the donations and unwavering support this community has shown us and would like to share recent accomplishments and goals for the future.

Future Goals 
•Remain by artists, for artists, for the benefit of all.
•Increase our impact and support 60 artists per week.
•Increase wages to maintain a tenured, passionate team.
•Expand opportunities for art exhibition and offer new art classes.
•Create inclusive environments and support the normalization of disabilities.
•Increase community artist engagement through teaching, artist talks, and exhibition.
•Raise $50,000 to purchase a printmaking press, new kiln, large format printer, and more.
•Raise $100,000 in operational support to create a savings and build a long-lasting future.
•Grow our Board of Directors.
