Join us on June 13 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for a special FREE Sewing Saturday!

Sewing Saturday: Tree Rings will include esteemed guest, quilt artist, and instructor Colleen Wise. Colleen’s quilts are part of the “Old Growth, Growing Old” exhibit that is currently displayed on the 3rd floor of the International Quilt Museum.

Sewing Saturdays happen monthly and are a chance for guests to create a small project they can take home with them. Come anytime from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. No registration is needed, and all materials are provided. Ages 6 and older are encouraged to attend and must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

Because this event falls on an East Campus Discovery Day, admission to the museum is FREE.

That’s a wrap!

Yesterday was bittersweet as Clinton Elementary students celebrated finishing their mini quilts by taking a field trip to the International Quilt Museum to see all of the amazing exhibitions. “Finishing” these quilts also means saying goodbye to this group of students who have put so much time and hard work into their projects this quarter. They were a fun bunch!

One of my favorite memories from quilting club was listening to a conversation between two students while they were sewing:
“I love this. It’s so calming.”
“Yeah, this is good for my brain.”
“Right? It’s like therapy.”
“Maybe I should do this instead of playing on my phone.”
“Yeah, me too.”
