You'll have a chance to work with Broadsword, Rapier and Dagger, Smallsword, Single Sword, Quarterstaff, Spear, Knife, Broadsword and did we mention "Magic Hands"? The Lincoln Assassination is a SAFD (Society of American Fight Directors) sanctioned stage combat workshop taking place at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. Classes generally include Weapons and Unarmed Fighting for the Stage a

nd Screen, Gun Safety, Police Tactics, Blood Effects, and more. Skills Proficiency Testing (SPTs) and Skills Proficiency Renewals (SPRs) are also offered to culminate in Fight Night - a performance of stage fights open to the public. Skills Proficiency Testing/Renewal will take place the evening of March 26th.

Hey everyone, this is our incredible list of Instructors this year –

Let’s start with the Maestro himself, David Boushey, and Fight Master Scot Mann.

They are joined by Certified Instructors Mike Yahn, Michael Johnson, Adam McLean, Ian Borden, Harris Smith and Paul Steger.

Our teaching Assistants are Mike Speck and Adam Miller-Batteau with Interns Michael Allen Hollinger, Jay Akin, Matthew Smith, Patrick Stayer and Kayla Klammer ready to lend a hand where needed.

Our classes will be finalized soon, but look for Film Fighting with the Maestro, Motion Capture, Crazy Knife Fighting, Swords of every description, Spears, Sticks and maybe even a Frying Pan!

Fight Night is Friday, March 20 at 6:00 pm. Come watch scenes of mayhem and carnage!

Then Saturday and Sunday it’s as much blood and guts as you can handle from 9:00 to 5:00 each day! Classes for all levels in both film and stage violence.

And it’s all only two weeks away!

We are excited to announce that Fight master Scott Mann will be coming in to adjudicate our Fight Night!

This is why:
Scot J. Mann is an internationally recognized and award winning Fight Director, certified through the Society of American Fight Directors and the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat. He most recently choreographed swordplay, stunts and gunplay for the multi-million dollar production of Pirates Voyage in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He and his wife, Kelly co-choreographed the world premier of Stephen King's original muscial, "Ghost Brothers of Darkling County", directed by Susan Booth at the Alliance Theatre.

Scot is an internationally recognized and award winning Fight Director. He has choreographed, performed and coached theatrical violence with such companies as The Steppenwolf Theatre, The Alliance Theatre, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Theatrical Outfit, Georgia Shakespeare Festival, and The North Carolina School of the Arts. He has also served as an instructor for the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat in London, and Stage Combat Deutschland in Freiberg, Germany. As an actor, Scot has appeared with the Georgia Shakespeare Festival, New American Theater, New American Shakespeare Theatre, Atlanta Opera, motion capture talent for digital media, and various voice-over recordings for radio, T.V. and the Internet. Scot appeared as a stunt-player and served as tactical choreographer and gun wrangler for the newly released movie, Eyeborgs, as well as on-set Swordmaster and stunt double for the “Bollywood” epic, Drona.

Call for TA/Instructors and Interns for the Lincoln Assassination Stage Combat Workshop.

The Lincoln Assassination Stage Combat Workshop MARCHES on!. SPT and SPR testing will take place on Friday, March 20, 2015, and the workshop will take place Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22, 2015.

Advanced Actor Combatants are encouraged to apply for positions as TA/Instructors and Interns.

TA/Instructors will teach one class, and assist with others throughout the weekend. Payment will be $250.00. No transportation will be provided, but we will find a space for you to sleep.

Interns will assist with classes and perform other duties throughout the weekend. Payment will be $150.00 No transportation will be provided, but we will find a space for you to sleep.

TA/Instructors and Interns may take the opportunity to work with CTs to learn SPR fights during the day on Friday and test free of charge Friday evening. Or if you already have a fight worked up, you may also test for free.
