We want to shout out choir member Kaitlyn Michaelson for this great honor of Grand Marshal!! We are so proud of you!!

Meet another one of your Grand Marshals this year for the 2026 Star City Pride Parade, Kaitlyn Michaelson (she/they)!

Kaitlyn attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. During their time at Wayne, Kaitlyn was part of the PRIDE Club and served in multiple executive positions, including President her senior year. Kaitlyn provided a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ students and allies. They provided education on campus through Pride Flag Presentations and tabling in the Student Center for National Coming Out Day and Transgender Day of Visibility.

Kaitlyn also serves as the LGBTQIA+ Outreach Coordinator at her church: Christ United Methodist Church. During this role, Kaitlyn and two pastors in Lincoln created an interfaith LGBTQIA+ advocacy group: FaithAllyance. FaithAllyance is a group comprised of 11 faith communities that share a common belief: God loves EVERYONE. Kaitlyn has worked with FaithAllyance to provide education opportunities for the Lincoln community and create safe spaces for q***r individuals and allies.

During her time at WSC, Kaitlyn was awarded the 2025 Ron Holt Civic Engagement Award for their advocacy work for the LGBTQIA+ community through Pride Club on campus and FaithAllyance in Lincoln. Kaitlyn graduated with her bachelors of Human Services in May 2025 and is looking forward to continuing their advocacy work in Lincoln.

Community is so important to so many of us! This Give To Lincoln Day keep Star City Chorus in mind. We love to provide a third space for those who love music and support or are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Are you someone interested in helping a choir of LGBTQ+ individuals spread music and develop community in Lincoln? Our board is in need of members! We currently are in search of:

SECRETARY the member who is in charge of minutes, records, communication within the board, and policy oversight.
EVENT CHAIR the member who is in charge of organizing the operational aspects of everything related to concerts and special performances.
FUNDRAISING CHAIR the member who is in charge of fundraising strategy and implementation as well as donor relations.

It's that time of year, we are once again asking for your financial support! Star City Chorus uses so much of our funds raised through Give to Lincoln day to keep our choir running! Mana Games Community Dinner
Mana Games will be hosting a community Thanksgiving dinner and games on Thursday, November 27th from 6pm to 9pm. If you are able, please bring a food or non-alcoholic drink to share. If you'd like to contribute but live far away, you can venmo them and denote that it’s for Thanksgiving. DAME's 2nd Annual Chosen Family Thanksgiving Dinner

LGBTQIA+ Be Our Guest - Come As You Are Dinner
The Unitarian Church of Lincoln's LGBTQIA+ Welcoming Congregation Committee invites you to join them on November 28th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. There is no requirement to bring a dish, as they will be catering dinner. The catered dinner will include turkey, green beans, dressing, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, and desserts.
