Seems lately, I've been moving...
Not really stepping, jogging, or running.
(Nebraska's temps keep me indoors most of the time, doing pilates.)

In just one year this spring, I have made:
✅ 3 moves between studios (most friendly studio in downtown, back home, and soon to a new home)

Well, earlier today I wrote that I have been working on my education and didn’t get to do much in my art studio.

Yet when I got home, I couldn’t keep myself from making another step in clay sculpting.

I made 30 pistils for the freesias I’m working on. I’m happy I took one step. Taking little steps is all it takes to get to the big result I want.

Now, my next step will be to make 90 stamens 😀
I enjoy working with tiny details 🎉 so I definitely look forward to this next step!

This week began with video calls in the program I was getting training from. I spent two mornings on calls where we get support with our new goals for a new year.

I realize that what I do on the daily basis is what creates the life I have. And if there’s something I’d like to change, I’d start with little things I do on the daily basis.

I am thankful we have pretty cafes in our city! And thoughtful people around 🙂

Happy New Year friends!
It’s been a great beginning! ⏰
I feel like this year, I want to count every day.
Not only dream of how I could do something. But actually living the schedule I dreamed of having for a long time.

I created this separate account last year to sort of keep a diary of my art discoveries and progress.

I watched a movie “Julie and Julia”, and that’s where I got an idea to keep a journal or blog of how things really are in my art studio. I feel like my main account .sinyaya is about my entire week, not just the time I spend working. And I wanted to keep a separate blog about the truth: oil paint on my fingers, glue that needs cleaning, and clouds of soft pastels in the air.
And then of course, the beautiful final product comes in the end 🏆

I contemplated whether I will keep this diary locked for myself.
And then I noticed how quickly you joined me in this journey. I feel honored to have you as my guest in my studio! Welcome!

So here’s the first post of 2024 🎉
May the Lord lead my way in this creative journey!

My WOWs today!
Lord, hope wonderful Your designs are!
This week I began to “read” a new book. (“Read” because I listen to audiobooks on my walks)

And today’s topic was on FAITH. I saw how I can have a growing faith.
If this is written in Bible:
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ”
(In Romans 10:17)

…Then WHAT DO I ALLOW MYSELF TO HEAR?

What do you listen to?
Those perky thoughts in our minds: do you choose which of them to listen to?
What do you hear from outside? What resources speak into your heart?

Dear Lord, today I pray for the reader of this post.
Thank You for loving him/her! Thank You for Your beautiful example of love. Thank You for reminding us about Your majesty daily through Your creation. How wonderfully great You are! Thank You for creating each of us uniquely!

I pray today especially that my friend has a personal relationship with You. Thank You for coming here to earth to make that relationship possible to us. It is because of Jesus’ death and resurrection that we can come to You in prayer!

Please assure him/her of Your presence, and may they trust every word You spoke. I pray he/she would never doubt Your love for him/her. May my friend know what real love is because he/she knows You!

Thank You for loving us first so we could love You and others!

I am reminded how blessed I am to have wonderful mentors. We get to meet regularly with our art mentorship group to hear wisdom from those who are walking the road before us successfully. Today I received a challenge.

If I set up goals for the New Year, “what will I give up this year in order to reach those goals?”

It took me a minute. Things I enjoy deeply flashed in front of my eyes. Which one would I give up?

Everything I do these days is what I already love.
Meeting new people, building relationships.
Designing, creating.
I love my walks in the nature and music.
And of course, quiet time with God and His Word fuels all of me.

💡 I wonder, if make plans for the things I love, will there be less distractions? And if they do come up, I can come back to being focused on things that matter the most?
