To date, Cannons for Kannon and the Lima civil war reenactment has raised more than $3500 for accessible playground equipment at Mark Tubbs Park .
We currently have $770 on hand and will be working to raise more with the goal of purchasing an accessible merry-go-round spinner for the playground at the park.

Thank you to all who have helped raise funds and those who have donated.

A message from the Lima civil war reenactment .

As the dust settles on another Battle of the Crossroads, there is only one thing left to say...

Thank you.

To every reenactor who traveled to Lima, thank you for bringing history to life. Your authenticity, passion, and willingness to share your knowledge with the public are what make this event so special.

To the 1st New York Dragoons, our host unit, thank you for everything you did before, during, and after the event. Your dedication and hard work were instrumental in making this weekend a success.

To our incredible sutlers and living history demonstrators, thank you for creating an immersive experience for our visitors. And to Ragtime Ice Cream, thank you for serving up some of the best treats of the weekend! Flint Hill Dance Troupe, thank you for showing us how much fun it is to dance with your friends and brand new friends.

Our immense and endless thanks to the Town of Lima for allowing us to use Mark Tubbs Park and their endless support.

To the spectators, thank you for visiting with us. YOU make these reenactments matter.

Saturday's storms could have ended the event.

Instead, it reminded everyone why this community is unlike any other.

As torrential rain swept through camp, reenactors ran from tent to tent helping secure canvas and save belongings. Sutlers handed out clean clothing from their own stock to those who had lost theirs. Camps welcomed neighbors whose tents had been destroyed. With fire pits underwater, hot pizza was delivered so no one had to go without a meal. Time and again, people stepped in wherever they were needed, expecting nothing in return.

That is the reenacting community at its very best.

Finally, thank you to the Battle of the Crossroads Board and the many volunteers who spent months planning, organizing, solving problems, and working behind the scenes. Most of that work goes unseen, but without it, this weekend simply wouldn't happen.

To everyone who attended, volunteered, demonstrated, sponsored, supported, or simply came to experience history, thank you for making the 2026 Battle of the Crossroads one to remember.

We'll see you back in Lima on July 17 & 18, 2027.
