A Step Above Dance Studio is more than a place to take dance classes — it’s a place families quickly begin to call their second home. We are proud to offer high-quality dance education for toddlers, children, and teens in Lima, Ohio, while building a welcoming community that parents and dancers love being part of. Our studio features two bright, inspiring dance rooms, an organized student lobby, p

arent viewing windows, and a comfortable seating area where families can relax and connect while their child is in class. Our instructors are passionate lifelong learners who continually grow in their craft so they can pour that knowledge and inspiration into every dancer they teach. Most importantly, our students are encouraged to embrace who they are as individuals and use that to develop their own artistry and confidence. Whether they are 2 or 18, dancers leave A Step Above feeling fulfilled, empowered, and proud of themselves.

Wow. Our studio was FULL and busy all night long tonight, and my heart is so full. 🥹

Tonight was such a special reminder of just how much our ASA family has grown. Season 31 is on track to be a record-breaking year with more students enrolled than ever before — and I truly cannot put into words how grateful I am that so many families continue to choose A Step Above. 💜

To our parents — thank you for your patience tonight! We know the lines got a little long at times (especially that prize wheel! 😂), but we hope you were able to get everything you needed, meet your teachers, ask your questions, and leave feeling excited and ready for the season ahead.

To our NEW families — WELCOME! We are so glad you’re here, and we cannot wait to get to know you and your dancers.

And to our returning families — welcome back! Thank you for continuing to trust us with your kids and choosing to spend another season with us. It means more than you know.

And then there’s our TEAM. 💙

And to ALL of our ASA staff — thank you. You worked, problem-solved, answered questions, helped families, welcomed dancers and kept things moving all night long. Our team is incredible, and I am so grateful for every single one of you.

Tonight was busy. It was loud. It was a little chaotic. 😂 And it was SO full of excitement for what’s ahead.

Seeing this studio packed with dancers and families tonight made me even more excited for what we’re building together.

The quiet studio days are almost over, and we’re ready for our dancers to be BACK!

There’s something about this picture that I love. 💜

Not because everyone is perfectly posed. Actually… quite the opposite. 😂

Some are smiling at the camera.
Some are being silly.
Someone’s throwing up a peace sign.
Someone else is clearly doing their own thing.

And THAT is kind of the point.

When parents sign their child up for dance, usually they’re thinking about the obvious stuff. Learning steps. Getting exercise. Maybe performing on a stage someday.

But then somewhere along the way… this happens.

They find their people.

The kid they were nervous to sit beside on the first day becomes the kid they can’t wait to see every week.

The child who barely spoke in class starts being the silly one in the picture.

Different ages. Different personalities. Different schools. Different backgrounds. Kids who probably wouldn’t have crossed paths otherwise… sitting together like they’ve always belonged there.

And no, they won’t remember every dance we teach them.

They’ll forget choreography. They’ll outgrow the costumes. They’ll eventually move on from the classes they once couldn’t wait to get to.

But I really hope they remember this part.

The laughing between classes.
The inside jokes.
The people who cheered for them.
The place where they walked in and knew somebody was happy to see them.

Because sometimes the best thing kids find at dance class isn’t dance at all. 💜
