🎭 MEET BOBBY: Chris Shotwell

So… you're having a perfectly normal evening with your friends.

You're playing cards.

You're remembering an old friend.

And then suddenly…

the police are involved.

Chris is excited to return to Old Town Players after appearing as the Bellhop/Borden in Plaza Suite. His other credits include Trouble in Mind with Live Arts Theater, Let Nothing You Dismay with Players Presents, and The House of Blue Leaves with Theater.

This time, he's taking on two roles: Bobby and a Policeman.

Which raises an important question:

What exactly are these three women up to? 👀

We're not telling.

But we are telling you that if your idea of a great night out involves friendship, laughter, a little mischief, and things going spectacularly sideways…

🎭 MEET RACHEL ANN: Liz Roberts

She's young. She's in college. She's got her whole life ahead of her.

And she's DONE with men. At least, that's what Rachel Ann says. 😂

Meet Rachel Ann, played by Liz Roberts, in Exit Laughing!

Rachel Ann is Connie's college-aged daughter and has some very strong opinions of her own, particularly when it comes to love, romance, and the general headache that is men.

We've all been there… right ladies?

Liz is an Atlanta-based actress with a BA in World Cinema from Clemson University and is thrilled to be back with her friends at Old Town Players. Her previous credits include Gertrude in Hamlet and Aggie in The Game's Afoot.

🎭 MEET MILLIE: Vanessa Outlaw

Some friendships survive anything.

Grief.

Arguments.

Even… questionable decisions involving a friend's remains? 😳

Meet Millie, played by Vanessa Outlaw in Exit Laughing!

Millie is one of three longtime friends brought together after the funeral of their dear friend Mary. For years, Mary, Connie, Leona, and Millie shared a weekly bridge game and a friendship that went far beyond the card table.

Now the fourth musketeer is gone, and the remaining three are trying to figure out how to move forward.

But Mary may have left them with a little more than memories.

Vanessa is returning to Old Town Players for her second appearance, after previously performing in Plaza Suite. She's also graced plenty of other metro-Atlanta stages, with credits including The 39 Steps, Monsters in Love, Rabbit Hole, The Diviners, and Moon Over Buffalo.

And Vanessa has some excellent advice for all of us: “Stop acting so silly and enjoy the show!”

We think that's pretty good advice. ❤️

🎭 MEET LEONA: Camille Murphy Mahdi

Every friend group has one.

The one who has an opinion.
The one who isn't afraid to say it.
The one who might be just a little too honest.

Say hello to Leona, played by Camille Murphy Mahdi in Exit Laughing!

Leona is one of three longtime friends trying to find their footing after the loss of their dear friend Mary. For years, the four women gathered for their weekly bridge game. Now, without Mary, the table suddenly feels very different.

This is Camille's first production with Old Town Players, but she is certainly not new to the stage. Her Atlanta theatre debut came in 2014 at the historic Rialto Theatre, and she's since appeared with Street Theatre and Live Arts Theatre.

She's also a writer, with both a short skit and a murder mystery among her produced works. So, we're thinking Camille may know a thing or two about creating characters who have a story to tell. 👀

🎭 MEET CONNIE: Beth Thompson

If you've ever had that one friend who is absolutely certain she knows what's best for everyone… then you already know Connie Harland.

Played by Beth Thompson, Connie is one of three longtime friends at the center of Exit Laughing. After their dear friend Mary’s funeral, Connie, Leona, and Millie find themselves trying to figure out what comes next without the fourth member of their weekly bridge game.

And then Mary, as it turns out, isn't quite finished having a say in their lives. 😉

Beth is no stranger to Old Town Players. As the founder of OTP, she's appeared in several productions, including Plaza Suite. She has also directed the murder mysteries Last Call at Chez Mort and Shop 'Til You Drop. Most recently, you may have seen her as part of the cast of Dashing Through the Snow with Players Presents.

But this time, Beth is back onstage as Connie. And she's bringing a whole lot of heart with her.
