I HIGHLY recommend saving this place if you’re someone who plans unique, off the beaten path trips, especially with friends!

📍 in Lombok

I think I can safely say staying here one of the major highlights of our month long trip together and im so glad we got to get off Bali for a little bit :)

Some days we’d take their jetski out and romp around the lagoon. Other days we’d all hop on our scooters and just see where we’d end up. One day we stumbled upon that waterfall.

Back at the villa we had epic ping pong matches, chess matches, padel matches (they have their own padel and tennis courts), and Andre was declared overall Uno champion.😂

This house was basically the perfect container for two of my favorite things in the world: connecting with my best friends, and connecting with nature.

Our exact villa: .kastil.utara 8 bedrooms, views of both sunrise and sunset, impeccable design and furnishings. Plus the wave we surfed I could see from@my bedroom window. Dream house.

I will say it always feels a little crazy in the moment. For me, it was leaving a prestigious university where I was on scholarship to study architecture. I remember trying to convince myself to stay but I knew in my heart it wasn’t for me. I left embarrassed to be “a college dropout” among my super smart friends…but somehow also more free.

That was the first time I can remember doing something that was not what was expected. It was something just for me. I can’t say that time period was particularly glamorous and that things instantly worked out - nope, there were lots of odd jobs at grocery stores/restaurants, breaking my ankle as a new tour guide, self doubt, the list goes on.

Yet that one decision let to hundreds of other little and big decisions - to move far from home for the first time, to try social media, to say things that scare me, to ask a guy if he would want to go on a date with me.

I became brave in the process, not before it. And I’m so glad, so grateful I don’t look back now and say “what if?”

Little love letters to my heart lately 💌 it’s storming outside now. The jagged arc of lightning a different kind of brilliant than the sunny days we spent having spontaneous friends dinners, swimming until the blazing sky art faded.

Nature reminds me things can change and will always change.

But for this brief moment between flashes, there is nothing I need. Nothing I would change about this constellation of friends, playing padel (when I’m lucky riding horses) working, my morning calls to my mom, looking at the moon.

There is no yearning to be in another part of the world or on some epic trip that I see online.

I’m just here. Ultra present to the fact that this delicate balance doesn’t happen all that often so I will savor it while the molecules outside my window shift and dance and forever become something new.

My favorite way to spend a long summer day. Less than 72 hours back in NZ and already reunited with my friend riding, laughing, and going in the lake with the horsies.🤠🐴

We met last year when she was not even a year in to opening her baby and we had this instant “oh you’re my kind of person” connection. Now she’s growing a real baby, business is blooming, and I’m here again thinking if this could be home. Amazing how much can change in a year both inside of us and outside. :)

Last year these hills were gold. This spring they’re every shade of lush emerald and full of baby lambs and calves - the whole landscape feels excited and lively. I’m itching to do another shoot to capture its current color palette.

Also… fun fact: the second photo of Sam (owner of ) was published by USA Today for a top travel destinations feature ✨

A little bit of life lately🐮🌲🌾⛰️🌅🎾✨ in a season of being proud of where I’m at and who I am. Of choosing to connect more with friends, parents, the moment in front of me and film less. In a place of prioritizing sleep and (fun) movement as much as I can. Of being as discerning yet as honest as I can be.

Of breathing before I respond and asking myself frequently “is this really a problem or is my brain just making this a problem?” In a season of being ok with the parts of me that are wholesome and the parts of me that are wild and the parts of me that want to work all the time and the parts of me that lay in a patch of sunlight for entirely too long because I’m reading a new book.

In a space of loving them all. Of living and loving as best as I can - courageously, intentionally, free :)

Little mindset shifts🌱 I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much of our experience is shaped not by what happens… but by what we believe it means.

Sometimes the hardest part of growth isn’t doing more — it’s about being ok with what is.

Letting go of timelines, comparison, and that voice that says we’re supposed to be somewhere else by now.

A little mindset shift can change everything. 🌱

Which one resonated most with you?

The last 2 days in Switzerland have felt like a movie.

We swam in glacier rivers and hiked and made up silly games WHILE we hike like who can take the biggest steps or who can tell the best fake story or who can flip the bottle and make it land in the fewest tries.

I learned all about the process of cheese making at Alp-Schaukaserei Morteratsch and had the CUTEST lunch spread in the forest.

Then we walked through a forest to a free jazz concert at sunset in a beautiful valley and people were swimming in the lake or playing with their puppies while listening to music.

If I’m honest today gave me the feeling of “wow I’ve made it. This is the life that I prayed for and worked for. This is the dream.”🥹 I won’t pretend I always feel this way, but this week I do. And I’m happy and grateful to feel like I can share that piece of honest joy with all of you.

A huge thank you to for showing us your home town this week. I have no words for how special this trip has been for me :)

PS: I wanted to make a reel but my eyes were too sleepy after such a spectacularly long day. 🤗♥️
