There are no words to describe the devastation and heartbreak we are feeling as a dance family. This past weekend, we lost a wonderful man, father, friend and dance dad to many, Matt Goin.

Matt’s two daughters have taken at our studio and have been a part of our dance family for 15 + years. We just celebrated his oldest daughter, Addyson’s graduation this past May and spent a lot of time together at our Nationals in July. His daughter said it best, “ to know him is to love him.” Anyone that had a conversation with Matt instantly gained a friend. Matt had a larger than life personality and made everyone around him feel special. Matt was like a big teddy bear with the kindest and sweetest heart. He treated all the kids at the dance studio like they were his own. Supporting them, cheering them on, and high-fiving them as they came off the stage from their performance.
Our MelRoe’s staff, students and parents were all impacted by Matt’s friendship and kindness.
Our hearts go out to Marissa and the kids as they navigate the loss of their husband and dad.
Matt will always be remembered and greatly missed. Hanging out in the hotel at competition will never be the same.
Celebrations after recital will never be the same. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We love you and and may you RIP💜🙏🏻💜
