Mending = Joy
At some of the earliest Mending Circle meetings I worked on this top, solving the problem of loosely woven fabric wearing out by adding some fun visible mending.
Yesterday I wore it and felt so good!

Mending Circle meets tomorrow, April 20 from 4-5:30 pm.

Unsure where to start with a mending project? I like to say “safety in numbers.” You’ll be among friends old and new, getting radical and keeping our clothes in our wardrobes and out of the landfill. Hope to see you there!

Join us for Mending Circle from 4-the 5:30 this afternoon

My plan for today was to continue the visible mending on this old favorite sweatshirt. But with this stormy weather I am tempted to work on an embroidery project because of the bright colors I’ve chosen.

Bring your mending (or small handwork) project. I will have some supplies to share and if you need help getting started, we always have good ideas.

Wow! Have you ever been in a room full of makers making jeans? The industrious creative energy is contagious. Nine students and three teachers did just this from last Thursday through Sunday. If you know these folks, I know you’re going to be hearing about their time… and their really fabulous jeans.

If you join us for jeans camp in March, you’ll come away with jeans that fit your unique body just how you want them to.
You’ll learn some fitting and finishing skills that you can be proud of.
You’ll learn and practice hand embroidery, opening the doors to even more art in your clothes and textiles.
It’s going to be a great time!

-Pattern fitting
-Jeans construction

You’ll get four full days of class; delicious lunches and snacks; shopping and socializing opportunities. Lodging options are available close by, too.
