We looked at the artwork of TM Pruitt in Greenville, SC (she owns Vino & Van Gogh so if you’re up there, check out her awesome art studio!) Kids worked on observational skills & color blending and mark making to recreate her amazing deer painting. I think these kiddos nailed it and I’m sure she would be proud!

This week is Mixed Media week and oh👏🏼em👏🏼gee, look at the cuteness of these fish, alligator, and axolotls! Inspired by folk artist John Richards who used recycled materials in his sculptures of animals, we used recycled cardboard, sticks, bottle caps, plastic water bottles, and aluminum cans in these adorable pieces! 🥰

Clay camp with the older kiddos resulted in some fabulous lighthouses (with flickering lights in some of them!), coil bowls, adorable slug pots, and cute little garden totems if they had extra time. (Those lighthouses took longer than expected but some artists wanted to add more details like land and rocks, docks with boats, and even a couple of attacking Krackens! 😂❤️

Mask-making mini camp was this week and these kiddos definitely had their creative juices flowing! Several came in knowing exactly what they wanted to do and some just went where the creative flow took them! Either way, these plaster masks look fantastic!
