Oh my goodness, check these out! A friend donated these metal lanterns to the studio. We looked at the beautiful artwork of ceramic artist Courtney Mattison whose work focuses on coral reefs and raises awareness about coral bleaching. Using diy handmade clay, these students created coral reefs on the lanterns and focused on textures and layers before they added color. They turned out even more beautiful than I imagined! Thank you, Stephanie Cope for the donation! I knew we’d find a use for them!🤗

It’s State Fair week and this year we had 45 artists whose work was accepted into the fair for display! 👏🏼Of those 45, we had SEVENTEEN award winners including two BEST IN SHOW! 🎉🥇I am so proud of every single one of my artists for all of their hard work, creativity, and willingness to put their work out there into the world! Keep creating!

Julia Glynn or on Instagram is an artist that I follow and I had the pleasure of meeting her this summer at one of her pop-up shows. She is just a little ray of sunshine! We looked at her rat painting series ( RATS?!?! Why? bc in NYC, everyone has a rat encounter story, she said! 😂) and then we brainstormed other ideas for her rats! Y’all, these kiddos are So. Dang.Funny. (And creative!!!)
