Congrats to University of Kentucky School of Music Assistant Professor David Miller, who was appointed to the editorial committee of the Journal of Research in Music Education, the top international research journal in music education, AND appointed as Editor of the String Research Journal, a nationally-circulated peer-reviewed research publication of the American String Teachers Association.

Celebrating Our Faculty! 🎉

This March, University of Kentucky School of Music assistant professor Jason Rosenholtz‑Witt presented his research, “Co’ begli occhi arso il mondo [With beautiful eyes, she set the world aflame]”: Anna Renzi’s Eyes and the Construction of the Virtuosa in Seventeenth‑Century Italy, at Virtuose di musica in Seventeenth‑Century Italy, an international conference hosted by the University of Florence.

A new exhibition at the UK Art Museum by curator Rachel Hooper, and created in collaboration with the UKY Arts Administration associate professor Jill Schinberg, explores the intersection of modern dance and photography through rare archival material. Faculty research success! 🎉👏

We’re excited to celebrate UKY Arts Administration Associate Professor Jill Schinberg, who recently published new research with collaborators Rebecca A. Ferrell (College of Charleston Assistant Professor and UK Arts Admin PhD graduate) and Dan Sandfelder.

Their article, “Liminal Arts and Business: An Autoethnographic Analysis of a New Arts Venture in an Entrepreneurial Startup Accelerator Program,” appears in the Journal of Arts Entrepreneurship Education.

Faculty research success! 🎉👏

UK School of Art and Visual Studies lecturer Lexi Bass and Allison Ogden received a 2025 Artist Enrichment Grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women to create an original soundtrack for "They Come in Threes," a film exploring Bass’ mother’s death, health, and resilience.

Bass’ film "Meander" also earned Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Short at the Vancouver Women's Film Festival and an honorable mention at the LA Underground Film Forum.
