💛 A Little Juneteenth Treasure Found in the Park 💛

This beautiful painted rock is tucked away in the park. It reads “Happy Juneteenth 2026” and was clearly made with love, creativity, and a big heart.

To the young artist—or anyone—who took the time to paint and place this here: we thank you. Your small act sparked a moment of thoughtfulness and reflection.

On a day like Juneteenth, this feels especially meaningful.

Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Texas finally learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

It is a celebration of freedom, resilience, community, and the ongoing journey toward equality.

Perhaps this little rock was meant as a reminder. A reminder to pause, reflect, learn, celebrate, and share in a history that belongs to all of us.

Sometimes the smallest things we leave behind can carry the biggest messages.

Happy Juneteenth and we hope to see you tonight!
