🎉We are celebrating our Principal - Project Delivery and Systems: Ryan Gottlieb! 🎉

Ryan Gottlieb leads technical direction and project delivery for SPRK. With over twenty years of technical experience, he has contributed to a diverse range of projects, including nighttime spectaculars, dynamic art installations, and cruise ship productions for Disney Live Entertainment, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Cedar Point Entertainment. Gottlieb also brings expertise in PLC/Automation Engineering, including experience as a Senior Controls Engineer for Tesla, where he contributed to the Cell Manufacturing team at the Gigafactory in Texas.

If you know Gottlieb, you know how much he appreciates the limelight, so we made sure to wait until he was on a (well-earned) vacation to highlight him. 😎

SPRK is proud to celebrate the successful design and installation of MINILAND at the all-new LEGOLAND® Shanghai —the first LEGOLAND park in China!

As the centerpiece of every LEGOLAND park, MINILAND showcases intricate LEGO recreations of iconic cities and landmarks. At Shanghai, guests are immersed in a vibrant tribute to China’s most beloved cultural sites—brought to life in stunning miniature detail. SPRK designed a dynamic lighting environment that enhances the scale, story, and wonder of each model, including immersive day-to-night transitions that unfold as visitors journey through the space.

Working closely with Merlin Entertainments' creative team and the LEGO Group’s visionary designers, SPRK developed a lighting package that is immersive, playful, and culturally respectful. Though LEGO bricks may be small, MINILAND spans an area roughly the size of a football field—proving that great storytelling happens at every scale.

We are so thankful to have collaborated with:

Creative Director: Anthony G.
Creative Direction: Candy Holland
Project Leadership: Jermaine Paul
MMM Model Team: Alasdair Beddow, Stefan Bentivoglio

After working in Project Management for industry giant Electronic Theater Controls, Casey joined Disney Live Entertainment where he quickly ascended to the role of Lighting Designer for a decade. Most recently as Senior Show Lighting Designer with Walt Disney Imagineering, Roach’s work on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios garnered him a 2020 TEA Thea award for Outstanding Achievement. While our team is currently overseas on another exciting project, we’re taking a moment to look back at one of our favorite collaborations—Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs, Walt Disney World.

This unique and atmospheric space was brought to life through a fantastic partnership with our friends at MDSX, blending rich storytelling with immersive lighting design.

Grateful to have been a part of a project that’s as visually delicious as the cookies! 🍪✨

🔥 SPRK is leveling up! 🔥

We recently came together for an intensive week of strategic planning sessions, sharpening our approach to projects as we deliver bigger, bolder, and more impactful work than ever before. The future is brighter than ever, and we’re just getting started!

And of course, we closed out the week in style—with an unforgettable party featuring Luna & The Mountain Jets and Laid Back Country Picker. We’ll let the photos speak for themselves. 🎉

🎄✨🎃PROJECT RECAP🎃✨🎄

For Halloween and Christmas at the Indianapolis Zoo, B Morrow Productions, in collaboration with SPRK, designed a family friendly attraction that transforms with the seasons.

The best part? With a quick turnaround, the installation seamlessly shifts from spooky Halloween vibes to festive winter holiday magic. And once finished it can be stored until the next season.

We love working with the Indianapolis Zoo and B Morrow Productions to bring these experiences to life. Check out this highlight video 👇

We love how Ryan's expertise and leadership shape what SPRK really is.

Updating our new website has given us the opportunity to look back on some fun projects. Specifically, Big Bear Mountain at Dollywood.

Big Bear Mountain, Dollywood’s longest coaster, offers guests of all ages a family-friendly adventure through Wildwood Grove. Spanning 3,990 feet of track with nearly two minutes of thrills. SPRK contributed to this exciting attraction by providing expert area development lighting and thematic lighting through the attraction.

Thank you to ThemeParkArchive for the photos.

We’re proud to highlight a fantastic project that recently opened in Pittsburgh, PA. “The Three Sisters” lighting show is a testament to the visionary creativity of Dr. Marques Redd, Mikael Owunna, and their nonprofit Rainbow Serpent. Their aim? To weave the powerful stories of the Andy Warhol, Roberto Clemente, and Rachel Carson Bridges with the three sister Yoruba goddesses (Oya, Oshun, and Yemaya) and the three sister crops (beans, corn, and squash) from Native American agricultural practices into a captivating architectural light design.SPRK’s own Ryan Gravilla and Matt Cooper had the pleasure of supporting this artistic vision to bring this light installation to life, creating an immersive experience on the bridges that merges art and technology. The work is on view nightly from November 23, 2024 - December 31, 2024 between sunset to midnight.
