Here’s my painting from this morning sitting beside the lake at Natchez Trace State Park. It was a little windy and chilly this morning so I think next time I’ll have my class starting at 10:30. Overall it was a beautiful morning.

Place: Natchez Trace State Park
Meet at the Pin Oak Lodge: 7:45
Demo and Class Time: 8-11 by the water
Cost: $50 (does not include lunch)
Lunch at the Lodge: 11-12 (optional)

Supplies needed: oil paints, easel, paper towels, brushes (Amazon list provided in comments)

Supplies provided: small canvas, view finder, value range card

Supplies you may want to bring: water bottle, chair, latex gloves, trail mix, drawing pencils, sketchbook or journal for taking notes, hat, bug spray, you will be outside painting so anything you think you may need, think camping supplies.

When cleaning your brushes you will want to use mineral spirits not water! I use this brand. It still has a slight smell but definitely not as strong as regular mineral spirits. This is the smaller bottle. You can order the larger size if you want.

Your grown up Christmas List! I’ll be posting all of the suggested painting supplies to buy before workshops begin. Our first workshop will be in March. Go ahead and start buying your supplies so when March gets here you will be prepared and ready to paint! This set is the one I personally use.
