"COLORFUL WHITES" WORKSHOP!

White objects aren’t really white at all—and that’s where the magic begins. In this workshop, Mark Menendez will guide you through a still-life project that reveals the hidden world of color inside everyday “white” items. Using the gentle glow of an old-fashioned lamp, cool porcelain, soft eggshells, and shining glass, you’ll learn how to spot the blues, violets, yellows, and warm neutrals that bring white surfaces to life.
Mark will show you how to build rich, convincing whites without heavy pressure or endless layering. You’ll explore temperature shifts, soft shadows, transparent curves, and reflective metal—all with a relaxed approach that keeps your pencils sharp and your strokes light.
Whether you’re just starting your colored pencil journey or you’ve been drawing for years, you’ll walk away with new ways to see, new ways to shade, and a deeper appreciation for the quiet beauty in simple objects.

We are excited to announce our first workshop for 2026 - a full-day workshop on Saturday, January 31, 2025, with Anda Chance presenting “Artist Bootcamp - Back to Basics”.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a fresh perspective on the fundamentals, this workshop is for you. Together, we’ll explore the essential building blocks that give every drawing strength and impact. Anda will guide you through the basics of composition, what makes it work, how to spot a strong design, and even how to bend the rules when the moment calls for it. You’ll get a better understanding of perspective, learn to use positive and negative space to your advantage, and discover how balance can turn a good drawing into a great one.

We’ll also cover the role of values—lights, darks, and everything in between—and how they bring depth, drama, and clarity to your artwork. With clear demonstrations, engaging exercises, and plenty of time for practice, this workshop offers both beginners and seasoned artists a chance to strengthen their skills and bring new energy into their drawings.

What an amazing year it has been for our 'Possibilities' Workshop Series! Each workshop has been filled with creativity, connection, and the joy of learning together. We have enjoyed offering these workshops so much that we've added one more to finish out the 2025 year.

We are thrilled to announce a full-day bonus workshop on November 1, 2025, with Tracy Frein. If you have been in a 'creative rut' or find yourself wondering how to take your art to the 'next level', then this workshop could be just the answer you have been looking for.

In this one-of-a-kind workshop, Tracy Frein shares his approach to strengthening the creative process, welcoming artists of all kinds to explore the heart of creativity. Through engaging exercises, inspiring talks, and supportive group and individual work, you’ll uncover your personal vision and learn how to bring deeper meaning into your art. The atmosphere is energizing, encouraging, and fun—perfect for breaking through creative blocks and discovering your unique voice.

Color Pencil Explorers Event - September 13, 2025

This month, we are delighted to host Emma Kerridge-Conium as our guest. Emma will be guiding us through the basics of creating Mandalas. Class Description: Introducing The Seed of Life

The Seed of Life is one of the first geometric patterns that is taught to new geometers. The geometry of six is found in nature the world over, and consequently is a solid foundational pattern to introduce you to this artform. The patterns that can be created from this foundation are infinite. We will be drawing this pattern with a compass and ruler, before adding colour pencil work in a variety techniques including ombre blending and my coined ‘scribble scumble’, ending with an introduction to Neuroart techniques.
