Just a little morning vent / piercing PSA because lately I’ve had to remove and fix WAY more piercings than normal.

A little knowledge can save you money, pain, and a whole lot of healing problems.

If you go to a piercer and they’re putting that super cute dangly jewelry or gold-plated jewelry into a FRESH piercing! RED FLAG.

If they mark your belly button and that mark is literally sitting out on your stomach like they’re about to give you a surface piercing… RUN.

If the jewelry is not in a sterilization pouch and they just pull it out of a plastic jewelry container or plastic bag … RUN.

Fresh piercings need quality jewelry—implant-grade titanium or appropriate solid gold—and the jewelry needs to be properly sized with enough room for normal swelling.

I seriously love and appreciate every person who trusts me with their piercings, and it sucks seeing people come in after they’ve already spent their money, gone through the pain, and now have to remove it or start over.

There’s a BIG difference between owning a needle and actually understanding anatomy, placement, jewelry, sterilization, healing, and the piercing industry. YouTube can teach you a lot of things… but watching a few videos doesn’t make someone a professional piercer.

Please do your research. Ask questions. Your body deserves better than “it looked cute on Instagram.”
