In 2023, Seven Rivers completed this two-story, 3500 SqFt home outside Lewisburg, in Maxwelton. It took just under 10 months from start to finish. This traditional design has a wrap around porch and back deck, along with a two car garage.
The horizontal lap cement board was painted canary yellow to add a burst of color in the West Virginia mountains!

This house is complete, just in time to enjoy spring on the Greenbrier river!

Seven Rivers is nearing completion of this three story home in Caldwell. With 2300sqft living space and a 1700sqft garage, this house is just a stones throw from the Greenbrier River. It has Hemlock post and beam decks and screened porches and an outdoor shower! More pictures to come!

With the new year comes new projects! We are building a 2000sqft single level residence just outside of town. This house is nestled into a beautiful valley and completely off grid with solar panels and a well. There will be a standing seam roof, exposed hemlock beams and a 20ft wide accordion style glass door. More to come!

One of our current projects is in downtown Lewisburg, WV. This 1500 SqFt house is made with Hebel block, also known as AAC (see earlier post for more info on this material). It was built on to an old 200 SqFt cinder block flower shop. It has in-floor hydronic radiant heat and traditional mechanically seamed standing seam roof.

Another highlight from Headwaters Park are the sound walls. With the conference center having tall Hebel walls, concrete floors and large glass windows, there was a concern for acoustic quality.
So we created three custom accoustical walls to cut down on echo…
One with 4x4s and one with 6x6s cut at angles and methodically placed to create the most variation. The third style has 2x4s-2x8s running vertically from floor to ceiling with varying distances from the wall.

Many of our projects have continued to evolve throughout the summer, while some are nearing completion. One project we are excited to feature is the conference center at Headwaters Park. One of the final touches is the lightning in the meeting room.
Molly Must headed the design and build of six large cylindrical copper chandeliers. With design help from Andrew Must and guidance from Justin Turcotte, Molly welded 6ft diameter steel frames upon which she wrapped and bolted 1/8” thick, 9” tall copper sheets. She then applied a turquoise blue patina acid to the copper and inserted LED lights in the bottom channels. Terry Taylor helped with polishing, rigging and assisted in hanging the chandeliers 10 feet off the ground. Next to the wood and steel, the lights add a beautiful pop of color.

As Seven Rivers continues to grow, we increasingly need a central location for storage and office space. In Maxwelton, WV, we’re building a 7200 sq ft facility. The space will have in-floor radiant heat and 18’ ceilings. This location will allow for more efficient operations, while also providing a space to meet clients and to work on projects in a conditioned environment. Seven Rivers has built two Hempcrete houses to date. Hempcrete, also known as h**plime, is a biocomposite, carbon neutral material, made of h**p fiber and a lime-based binder. Hempcrete is strong, lightweight, and has good thermal and acoustic insulation. It is also flame, water, pest and mold resistant. It replaces the conventional need for batt insulation, drywall, sheathing and siding of a stick built house.
Our first project, a single family residence near Hillsboro WV, was cast in place and poured from top down into formed, reinforced walls. For our second project, just outside Alderson WV, we sprayed Hempcrete into the wall cavity open from one side. Both projects were finished with a lime-based plaster, making them breathable and completely nontoxic.
