Brushstrokes Gallery, Art Supplies, and Framing Family owned independent art shop. 36+ years. A real art store. 😊 Lots of cool stuff! The comments we here from people is "Wow a real art store".

We live in a very artsy college town that we love. We also get a lot of travelers who stop by every time they drive thru our area. The other comment we here is they feel like they are in a candy shop for artists and yes they are smiling as they wander thru our maze of a store. Often we have a shop dog on duty. Very dog friendly- cats too but they tend to be homebodies. We are bigger than we look!

We were sort busy for a rainy Tuesday. Both Shopdogs were so happy to come in and greet people. (3 days off due to the sidewalk sale ) Lots of orders from that summer market are showing up so we are well stocked. ✅ Tiny leather journals are back (also known as fairy journals ). The back to school college stuff will be showing up this week so we will look a bit messy. 📦 📦 📦 It is Farmers Market 🥕🌽🍅🥬🫜🧅🧄 Wednesday in Central PA and we are here 11 to 5. Peace out. ✌️

Easing into the week. Restock on Pigeon Posted, fun acrylic sets, a Lottie watercolor, journals, and our favorite inexpensive colored pencil set! Dogs enjoyed backyard playtime. And it was 54 years ago (1972) that these shopkeepers had their first meet cute at a club in D.C. called Someplace Else - live band - dancing. I was there with friends and he showed up with his. 😍 Rest is history. 💃 🕺 💒 Shop is open on this Tuesday from 11 to 5. Peace out. ✌️

Sunday AM dog walk. A bit of heaven. Pretty gardens, flowers, dragonflies, huge bird on the train bridge (juvenile 🦅 maybe), a second story birdfeeder with dueling birds (robins vs blue jays), watermelon pumpkins, and the mighty and beautiful Susquehanna River. It was a good day. Hoping for a fun yet casual Monday. Open this week Tuesday to Saturday from 11 to 5. Peace out. ✌️

Randy threw a sidewalk sale party 🎉 and everyone came. He chatted outside all day and was so happy! We were busy inside the shop and a good time was had by all. Didn’t get a morning bridge walk yesterday due to setting the sale up and opening by 9:15 so…you get merch pics (letter seal restock) and Bren searching for squirrels 🐿️ this morning. Thanks Team B for pitching in on that very busy day! People were so friendly and the weather was perfect! Whew. Off for two days and a million things to do. 🤣 Peace out. ✌️

Post 2! Whew - we are up and ready. So many posters $5 each - a ton of frames most expensive $10 - all kinds of artsy magazines 2 for $1- all sorts of custom mats $2 each and boxes of mat middles $5 a box. Art books, used supplies. Come on down. We love to find things homes!

Post 1 …The dogs are excited about today’s big sidewalk sale. 🥰 We will post a video once we are set up (hence Post 2) - there will be pics in stories then too. For now…what was up with yesterday? To quote Barbara “ it was hard - felt busy and overwelming” - well we survived it - we think everyone left happy and found what they needed - Randy has some serious complicated framing to do with a quick deadline 😱…but we will ignore that today and focus on the sidewalk sale. Mother Nature is cooperating 😍. We will open early (prob 10, maybe earlier) and stay til 5ish. Peace out. ✌️

Finally- we are carrying Moleskines again. We will expand this. Also a fresh batch of Leuchtturms are on their. way. We have lots of classic styles including the new ones by Sakura. Also lots of fun ones including the leather handmade paper types. Restock on Blackwing Pencils and brought the raven 🐦‍⬛ bookends in to help the display (Clever of Barb and Laurie). Pasta tote, sweet watercolor pocket palettes and Shopdog Bren getting in on the girl talk. Sidewalk sale is tomorrow - frames, posters (lots), random mats, and all sorts of clearance stuff. Here today from 11 to 5. Peace out. ✌️ ❤️

The Studio Ghibli goods are in and already heading out the door. 🚪 👋 . Yesterday was awesome - people were bringing armfuls of stuff to the register. (We do have baskets for gathering ✅🤣) . Shopdog Bren gets a B+…still a tiny bit over enthusiastic first thing. 💕 She settled and showed off the watercolor area. Met some lovely people yesterday with Shopdog Gracie 🐕 working her magic. Gathering big time for our sidewalk sale on Saturday. Will post a video or two and photos as we set up. Here on this Takeout Thursday from 11 to 5. Peace out. ✌️

TIME TO BEACH. New window - yes we laughed. Kerry and Gail gathered all our very beachy things plus after all our gazillion years of doing this we have lots of fish and shell props. Three orders came in - amazes us as how we go through stuff. Here on this Farmers Market Wednesday from 11 to 5. The rain ☔️ didn’t happen yesterday 😕. Oops - summer market started yesterday. Orders are going in. Shopdog Gracie lost her marbles over the cows 🐄 🐄 on the rail trail near Vicksburg. 🤣 New cards from Paper Planet 🌎- super nice and some of our many little bells ( 20+ choices now.).
