For the first time, the Southern Delaware Orchestra (SODELO) is offering a full-season subscription to Stories in Sound —all four of our 2026–2027 concerts at Cape Henlopen High School for $100 (SODELO Sunday Season Subscription), instead of $120 at regular single-ticket prices.

Join us at Cape Henlopen High School for four Sunday performances, each beginning at 3:00 PM:

• Ritmos Latinos (Latin Rhythms) — Featuring the acclaimed guitar soloist Dr. Celil Refik Kaya, performing Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez, alongside Ravel’s hypnotic Boléro, and other selections. Sunday, October 4, 2026

• The Snowman & Holiday Classics — Featuring a live screening of The Snowman with its score performed by SODELO, as well as other holiday film and television favorites. Sunday, December 13, 2026

• The Hero’s Journey — Featuring Beethoven’s monumental Fifth Symphony and SODELO's concertmaster, Justin Chou, performing Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending. Sunday, April 11, 2027

• Broadway by the Beach — Featuring the Alliance Singers of the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus. Sunday, July 11, 2027

SODELO is excited to partner with the Poet Laureates of the state of Delaware for our concert coming up this weekend, American Spirit Coastal Soul!

Identical twins Wilmington City Councilman Al Mills and State Representative Nnamdi Chukwuocha, known as the Twin Poets, are licensed master level social workers, award-winning spoken word poets, nonprofit administrators, community activists, and appointed in December 2015 as the 17th Poets Laureate of the State of Delaware. For our concert, they will be performing selections from United Sounds of America by Mark Hagerty alongside SODELO and the acclaimed soprano Makeda Hampton.

We sat down to learn what this piece means to them as Delawareans celebrating 250 years, as advocates for underserved communities, and as proud Poet Laureates for the state they call home.
