More than a barbershop—it’s a piece of history ✂️🖤

Founded in 1945 by **Charles Arnette**, **Arnette’s Barbershop** became far more than a place for haircuts. It grew into a gathering place, a safe space, and an important hub during the Civil Rights era—serving generations of the community with pride and purpose.

Decades later, **Kent Mason**, who was personally mentored by Arnette himself, stepped in to preserve that powerful legacy. After 75 years, Mason revitalized and continued operating the shop, helping protect one of the oldest Black-owned businesses in the area. 💫

Out of respect for the history and impact Charles Arnette created, Mason chose to keep the original name—a tribute to the foundation that was built long before him.

The story of Arnette’s Barbershop is a reminder that Black-owned businesses are often more than businesses. They are community landmarks, cultural spaces, and living history.

And thanks to community support, the legacy continues. ✨

Turning purpose into a powerful business 🌿✨

**Shanetta Wilkins** has officially launched **Aari & Co.**, a natural hair and skincare line created to celebrate and nourish all skin and hair types from crown to toe. 👏🏾💚

What makes her journey even more inspiring is that Shanetta originally planned to attend medical school. But after reflecting on the harmful side effects often linked to traditional prescriptions, she chose a different path—helping people through natural, toxin-free wellness and beauty products instead.

At just 17 years old, Kamora Freeland is already making history in the skies ✈️🔥

Kamora became the youngest licensed pilot in her state and one of the youngest licensed pilots in U.S. history—an incredible achievement made even more powerful in an industry where Black female pilots represent less than 1% of the field. 👏🏾✨

What makes her story even more amazing? She was flying airplanes before she was even legally allowed to drive a car. 🤯

Kamora’s journey is proof that talent, determination, and passion can break through any barrier. Age, race, and gender should never define what someone is capable of achieving.

She’s not just chasing dreams—she’s inspiring a whole new generation to believe the sky is never the limit. 💫

Using education and creativity to change lives before the system does 🎲✊🏾

After 19 years as a criminal defense and civil rights attorney, **April Preyar** is taking a unique approach to prison reform and youth education with the launch of her original board game, **JustUs Junkie’s Trials & Triumph**.

Based in Chicago, Preyar created the game to help teens better understand the real-life consequences of choices, the justice system, and the challenges many people face before ending up incarcerated.

Her message is powerful: sometimes a conversation, lesson, or experience that lasts just 35 minutes can help prevent years lost behind bars. 💫

By turning difficult topics into something interactive and engaging, she’s creating a new way to reach young people and encourage critical thinking, awareness, and better decision-making.

This is innovation with purpose—and a reminder that prevention and education can be life-changing tools. ❤️

At 71, Tina Knowles is reminding the world that choosing yourself is never too late 💫❤️

In her new memoir *Matriarch*, **Tina Knowles** opens up about the quiet but powerful moment she realized she deserved more—and made the decision to walk away from a marriage that no longer aligned with her happiness.

There was no dramatic turning point. Just clarity. A realization that her peace, joy, and self-worth mattered too.

Known for her grace, strength, and the incredible legacy she helped build as the mother of **Beyoncé**, Tina’s story is resonating with people everywhere because it speaks to something universal: the courage to start over. ✨

This kind of work has the potential to change lives around the world 🔬✨

Dr. Green is making groundbreaking strides in cancer research, developing treatments that have successfully cured cancer in animal models—a major step forward in the scientific community. While the treatment has not yet been proven in humans, her ultimate goal is to bring these discoveries from the laboratory to real-world patient care and demonstrate effectiveness across multiple forms of cancer. 💫

Beyond her research, Dr. Green’s journey is historic in itself. She became one of the first African American women in the nation to earn a Ph.D. in physics and only the second Black woman—and fourth African American overall—to receive a Ph.D. in physics from University of Alabama at Birmingham. 👏🏾

Her work represents innovation, perseverance, and the incredible impact that representation in STEM can have on the future of medicine and science.

The breakthrough may still be evolving, but the impact of her dedication is already inspiring the next generation of scientists and researchers worldwide. 🌍❤️
