Michigan Art Castings, LLC, is seeking a new team member eager to delve into the intricate art of bronze casting and create exquisite bronze sculptures for artists. As a family-owned and expanding business nestled in Leslie, Michigan, between Lansing and Jackson, we offer a unique opportunity for growth and learning.

POSITION: We have a full-time Metal Chaser position available. We use the lost wax method of casting to produce bronze sculptures for artists. Part of that process is to weld the cast bronze sections together and then “chase” the seam with handheld pneumatic die grinders to make it look like it was never welded. A search on YouTube, “metal chasing sculpture,” will show some examples of the process.
QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience and specific skills are not necessary. However, applicants should be honest, self-motivated, have a positive and pleasant personal attitude, be punctual, have a strong work ethic, be willing to learn the profession, be detail-oriented, and take pride in their work.

REWARDS: Varied types of work keep the profession enjoyable. We take great pride in the fact that our work is installed all over the US in private, corporate, and public collections, including the Smithsonian Institute, National Zoo, and US Botanical Gardens.

PERKS: Paid time off work, paid holidays, and paid vacation. Financial compensation will be matched with skill level. The typical work week is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
