Exciting things are happening in our town. The Leonard Chamber of Commerce and the Leonard Community Development Corporation have partnered with Texas Downtown, and on January 15, 2026, their team will be here to conduct a Downtown Assessment.

This is a rare and important opportunity for our entire community to help shape the future of Leonard—not just business and property owners, but everyone who lives, works, and cares about our town. Our Downtown Square belongs to all of us. Whether you’re a resident, employee, volunteer, student, or community leader, your perspective matters.

Last week we invited City of Leonard city council candidates in studio for a podcast interview. Out of all 9 candidates, 3 took us up on the offer. The three we interviewed share one (of many) things in common. -None seem to be motivated by self serving interests.
-Each one expressed a deep concern for responsible growth and preservation of small town values.

For these reasons we would specifically recommend any of the three candidates we interviewed for Leonard City Council.
