Frelinghuysen Morris House & Studio

New England's first Modernist structure was built by artists Suzy Frelinghuysen & George L.K. Morris,the Studio in 1931, the house in 1941.

They championed American Abstract art and collected the 20th century's greatest including Picasso & Leger.

This Friday, September 4th!
See a woodcut printing demo with artist Terry Wise. She will arrange small woodcut plates in a series of combinations which will be printed on paper right before your very eyes!

Demo starts at 11am, it will be our last artist demo of the 2026 season.

Join Peter Schoeffer, graduate of the Glasgow School of Art MFA program, as he demonstrates in mixed media this Friday August 28th starting at 11am!
Peter draws inspiration from the 16th century concept of “Cabinets of Curiosities” or Kunstkammer. This is where a collector would categorize shelves with their own private collection of eclectic natural artifacts and art which reflected their worldview or showcased their wealth. This foreshadowed the modern day concept of the museum.
Peter will use materials such as oil, acrylic on canvas and beeswax! Find him on the grounds this Friday; demo is free with any admission!

This Friday Marion Grant, painter and mixed media artist working out of Clock Tower Artists in Pittsfield, MA, will present a demonstration of abstract art incorporating paint, paper, and objects on canvas. Demo starts at 11am.
