Last weekend we installed a new work on the park by Michiel Vander Sommen. A former aeronautical engineer who retired at age 50 became a figurative sculptor. The convincing anatomical realism paired with the wonderful textural evidence of material manipulation, makes this work a stand out in the Sculpture park. Thanks Emma Finnen & Garret Williams for installing this work.

In partnership with Hudson Elementary, we have been working with Art teacher Emilee Aldaco working with her 4th graders on an annual cast iron tile project which is permanently installed at the front of the school. The project was highlighted in a video released by the NC Department of Public Instruction. The Hudson Elementary, WNCSC project starts at minute 13:20!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of installing the 5th and final, 4th grade cast iron tile project in partnership with Hudson Elementary School in Hudson, NC. Art teacher Emilee Aldaco Emilee Aldaco lead the project with her students who did a fantastic job over the last 5 years! We value our work with local and regional K-12 students and teachers.
