Sad news…

Sad news… Anne Schedeen best known to millions as Kate Tanner on ALF, passed away yesterday on June 14, 2026 at the age of 77.

’80s fans remember Schedeen for her role as the patient and loving mother of the Tanner family on ALF (1986–1990), one of the decade’s most popular sitcoms. As Kate, she helped keep order in a household that suddenly included a wisecracking alien from the planet Melmac.

Before ALF, Schedeen appeared on television series including Emergency!, Three’s Company, and Cheers, building a steady career throughout the 1970s and 1980s. For many fans, however, she will always be remembered as the mom who somehow managed to keep ALF under control.

Rest in peace Anne…

Mindy Cohn beat cancer TWICE…
and TODAY, she turns 60. ❤️

That alone feels worth celebrating.

And for anyone who’s fought cancer…
or watched someone they love fight it…

today probably hits a little differently. ❤️

For so many of us, she’ll always be Natalie from The Facts of Life.

The girl who made us laugh.
The one who felt real.
The one who felt like part of our own family.

Back when after-school TV wasn’t just background noise…

it was part of growing up.

Family nights.
Simpler days.
Memories that never really leave.

And knowing everything she’s battled through…

makes today feel bigger than just a birthday.

It feels like gratitude.

Gratitude that she’s still here.

Still smiling.

Still strong.

Happy 60th birthday, Mindy Cohn 🎉

Donald Gibb, beloved ‘Revenge of the Nerds’ Ogre, dead at 71.
R.I.P.

Donald Gibb, an American actor who appeared in cult classics like “Revenge of the Nerds” and “Bloodsport,” has died, according to TMZ. He was 71.

Gibb’s son, Travis, confirmed to the outlet that his father died from health complications on Tuesday in his Texas home.

Gibb was probably best known for playing the hulking, simple-minded fraternity bro Ogre in the 1984 comedy “Revenge of the Nerds.” He reprised the role in the 1987 sequel “Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise,” as well as the 1994 TV movie “Revenge of the Nerds IV: Nerds in Love.” In 1988, he co-starred alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme in “Bloodsport” as Ray Jackson, a beefier, more explosive American martial artist, who served as counter programming to Van Damme’s cool and calculated Frank Dux. He reprised the role for the 1996 follow-up.

How can you not just love this movie? All the stars and all the cars, it’s full out chaotic fun!!

Released in 1981, The Cannonball Run became one of the most entertaining and unexpected hits of the early 80s, built around a coast to coast outlaw road race packed with chaos, stunts, and a who’s who of stars. Directed by Hal Needham, the film was inspired by the real life Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash and leaned into its anything goes spirit. At the center was J.J. McClure played by Burt Reynolds, whose easygoing charm and chemistry with co star Dom DeLuise helped carry the film, especially with DeLuise’s hilarious alter ego Captain Chaos stealing scenes throughout.

The stacked cast also included Farrah Fawcett, Jamie Farr, Roger Moore playing a tongue in cheek version of himself as James Bond, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. as wisecracking gamblers, Jackie Chan in one of his early American film appearances, Adrienne Barbeau and Tara Buckman as the Lamborghini driving duo, and Mel Tillis and Terry Bradshaw as the good old boy team.

Made for a relatively modest budget, the film was a massive commercial success, grossing over $160 million dollars worldwide and becoming one of the top earning films of 1981, even if critics were not impressed at the time. Over the years, The Cannonball Run has built a lasting legacy as a pure fun, no rules road movie that captured the spirit of 80s excess and star power. Its mix of improvised comedy, celebrity cameos, and high speed car culture helped define a certain kind of ensemble comedy that would influence films for years to come.

Decades later, it still stands as a time capsule of its era, remembered for its outrageous humor, unforgettable cast, and the kind of anything can happen energy that made it a favorite for a generation of movie fans.

Fun movie even after all these years.
