Meet Detective Jimmy Todd's world weary partner, Sgt Mike Mallory from The Night I Died at the Palace Theatre by Pat Cook.

Can this duo solve the murder before you?

Mike works closely with Jimmy Todd, guiding the investigation as the cast turns on one another. His grounded, law-enforcement demeanor provides a hilarious comedic contrast to the loud, over-the-top dramatics of suspects like Glenda Howard and Kalene Cooper.

Meet our fearless Detective, here to solve the murder! Can you solve it before he does?

The Night I Died at the Palace Theatre opens in just a little while!

Detective Jimmy Todd is the primary investigator tasked with solving the murder of director Dexter Allan. His youthful and relatively innocent appearance provides a stark, comedic contrast to his serious job, making it difficult for the eccentric, cynical actors to take him completely seriously at first.

Jimmy proves to be highly observant and clever. He realizes that because Dexter Allan was both the director and the playwright of the show being rehearsed, the key to the murder might be trapped inside the theater arts itself. He must analyze the script of the play-within-a-play ("I Ain't Got No Body") to figure out if Dexter left intentional real-life clues behind, or if someone killed him specifically to keep the missing final scene from ever being read.

Along with his partner, the world-weary Sergeant Mike Mallory, Jimmy serves as the anchor of reality in the play. He conducts the interrogations, notes the technical theater layouts that make certain people suspects, and ultimately pieces together the final, comedic solution before the curtain drops.

Did the secretive janitor kill the Director instead of one of the cast members?

Come find out tonight when The Night I Died at the Palace Theatre by Pat Cook opens.

Suspect #10 Theodore

Unlike the rest of the suspects, Theodore is not an eccentric, spotlight-hungry actor or part of the immediate acting troupe. Instead, as the building's janitor, he has total, unrestricted access to every hidden corner, prop room, and light switch in the Palace Theatre. Because the director, Dexter Allan, is murdered right on the stage in total darkness, Theodore's intimate knowledge of the physical building instantly makes him a highly capable suspect.

The play explicitly characterizes Theodore as a man harboring an undisclosed, mysterious past. While the actors scream, faint, and throw open financial accusations at one another, Theodore operates in the background, making Detective Jimmy Todd exceptionally curious about what a seemingly quiet Swiss janitor is actually doing at the theater—and whether his "secret" provides a deadly motive.
