REPAIR UPDATES: We are currently knocking out setups and restrings quickly, most are being completed with 4-7 days. Logan Miller and Jarred Cannon and Harrison are available Tuesday-Saturday for any and all repairs. Our dedicated electronics specialist, Andrew is knocking out our heavy electronic repairs on weekly basis as well.

LESSON UPDATES: We have scattered availabilities Tuesday - Friday with Bridget Gindhart and JM Clark, with 2 MORE full days (3-8pm Monday and Thursday) opening with 2 NEW teachers ( Tom Fuller in and Stephen Robert ) in these coming weeks.

A little family reunion at BCR. āš”ļø

This Carvin R600 combo and Kiesel Vanquish VM59K have more in common than a good-looking pairingā€”they share the same roots.

Lowell Kiesel founded the company in 1946, and the Carvin name later came from combining the names of his sons, Carson and Gavin. For decades, Carvinā€™s catalogs had players dreaming about custom guitars, basses, amps, and entire stage rigs.

In 2015, the guitar and bass division became a separate company and returned to the Kiesel family name, while amplification continued under Carvin.

Which makes having these two together pretty cool: different names on the headstock and grille, connected by generations of music-making history. And that colorful five-string looks right at home in front of those red k***s. šŸ”“

Jarred here, putting a Tagima TG-73 bass through our fully serviced 1970 Ampeg B-25 head and matching 2x15 cabinet. With a replacement Hammond output transformer and a fresh recap, this old rig delivers serious low-end authority and that gritty vintage Ampeg growl.

Sometimes a lower-wattage tube amp goes a LONG wayā€”even when the riffs start wandering into doomier rock and metal territory. Give it some room to growl. šŸ¤˜

This Korean-made 2003 ESP LTD C-304 brings a beautifully figured top, dual EMG-HZ pickups, and a setup that makes it hard to put down.

All original and in excellent condition, with minimal fret wear, perfectly working electronics, low action, and accurate intonation. Weighs 9.2 lbs.

This one wears its years well. šŸŽø Blonde finish, black pickguard, aged hardware, and a fantastic vintage Tele look.

1980s Fender Japan ā€™52-style Telecaster - this 7.8 lb. beauty has a medium-slim soft V neck, 7.25ā€ radius, and a fresh setup with low action. Some very minor fret wear, but no buzzing or intonation issuesā€”all electronics and hardware work perfectly.

The neck carve, materials, finish, and electronics line up with the dozens of Japanese Fenders weā€™ve sold. The headstock decal and neck plate are replacements, so the exact year and series remain unconfirmed. Full details in our website listing.

Repurposed wood. Black sparkle. Prototype #1. šŸŽø

Handmade in Nashville by Sean Paden, this is the first realized prototype from his Green Guitar Projectā€”built with the goal of turning discarded tonewoods into lightweight, stable instruments with a minimalist design.

Maple, poplar, and birch construction, a walnut fingerboard, and a glossy water-based clearcoat make this one as much a piece of art as a guitar.

It also has a pretty remarkable history: according to Sean, it saw extensive use during rehearsals for Linkin Parkā€™s A Thousand Suns tour, leading the band to commission additional instruments. BCR owner Jarred has owned more than one instrument formerly belonging to the band, and this one has a story all its own. Photo of Mike Shinoda included :)

On the bench today: an early ā€™80s Fender Japan Telecaster built at Fujigen! šŸŽø Weā€™re getting this one ready for final assembly and inspectionā€”itā€™ll be available later today at BCR Music & Sound.

Classic blonde finish, black pickguard, and a slim-to-medium V-shaped neck with a 7.25ā€ fingerboard radius. A great setup rounds out the vintage feel.

Very good overall condition (8/10), with some fret wear and a replacement headstock decal added at some point. All electronics and hardware function perfectly.

An Ibanez pedal built in Denver, Colorado? Yep. šŸ‘‘

The 1990s Tube King TK999US has an interesting connection to B.K. Butlerā€”the designer behind the famous Tube Driver. These USA models were built by his company, Tube Works, bringing a piece of Butlerā€™s overdrive history into an Ibanez enclosure.

The backstory is even better: according to Butlerā€™s account, a patent disagreement with Ibanezā€™s parent company was resolved over lunch in Denver. The resulting agreement put Tube Works in charge of building the Tube King for the US market, while Japanese-made versions served Europe and Asia.

A surprisingly interesting chapter in ā€™90s pedal history hiding behind that Tube King name.

1970 Ampeg B-25 rig. Buyer gets the amp and 2x15 cabinet. I get to keep the back pain. šŸ˜‚

Carried it upstairs, wrestled it onto a stand, rotated it several times for photos, then hauled it back down to the showroom. Officially the worst thing Iā€™ve had to photograph this year. Thatā€™s the face of a man reconsidering his entire business model.

Who in their right mind wants a rig this massive? Then I plugged it inā€¦ stupid loud, ridiculously punchy, and suddenly the questionable life choices made sense.

Recently recapped and fully restored to peak operation (Thanks, Tim! Full Custom Music Repair), with a replacement Hammond output transformer done around 2010.

One of you crazy bastards is going to give me a decent chunk of change for this thing, and weā€™re both going to think we got the better deal. Bring a friend. Preferably a strong one. šŸ¤˜
