Farmland Preservations Artists artwork will be at Kish Expect More Store in July & August 2023

The opening reception will be during the First Friday Festivities on July 7th from 5:30-7:30pm

The Farmland Preservation Artists will exhibit an amazing collection of photos, prints, and paintings at Kish Bank, the Expect More Store in Downtown State College through the months of July and August.

Kish Bank is located on 114 S. Allen St., State College PA — Hours are Mon–Sat, 9am–5pm.

The Happy Valley Bonsai Club kicks off a full weekend exhibit starting this evening with the opening reception from 6-9pm at the Art Alliance of Central PA Gallery at 818 Pike St. in Lemont.

This is a remarkable display of bonsai from local artisans. Plants, supplies, and equipment will be for sale for the entire weekend.

The show runs Friday evening, Saturday from 11-5pm and Sunday 12-4pm

“Awash in Color” opens today at the Bellefonte Art Museum. 🌈

Our summer Imagination Celebration - “Awash in Color” is now open.

Our Special Exhibition Gallery features work by fourteen registry artists. Each artist chose one color to use as the primary focus of their painting. Susan Graham was inspired by magenta.

“I chose magenta since it has many hues, from pink to red, and is an intense color that I love. For this project I wanted to emphasize not only the shades of magenta but how it comes alive when contrasted with dark green/blue. The painting projects to me the feeling that I am walking into the earth towards the fire deep within.” -Graham

May has also marked the retirement of our Executive Director Marie Doll. A founding member, she worked tirelessly along side Deanna, Wendy, and so many others over the years to make the Art Alliance a dynamic epicenter for art in Centre County.

May has been such busy month at the Art Alliance.

We celebrated our 55th Anniversary with an amazing exhibit of founder Deanna Blumenthal’s paintings along with photographs of Deanna and her children, taken by Wendy Snetsinger, a founding member of the Art Alliance and paintings from our Art Sisters. It was a wonderful evening of celebration and memories.

We are gearing up for a busy summer, so stay tuned to what’s happening at the Art Alliance.

The Art Alliance of Central PA was among those awarded grants this year. Our grant will pay for advertising for our upcoming workshop series with artists; Christopher Leeper, Joanne Landis, and Alice Kelsey.

Not sure exactly what some forms of digital art look like? Stop by the Downtown Improvement District offices tomorrow for Opening Night of Maxine Jones' exhibition "Digital Realism" 5–7:00 pm.

In 2022 your generosity supported: 46 adult classes, 16 youth summer camps, 8 youth school inservice day programs, 4 themed exhibitions in our Art Center representing more the work of more than 110 local artists, 22 exhibitions in the local community representing the work of more than 28 local artists, and on-going open studios for painters, printmaking, and live figure drawing.
