We wish the best to Leitchfield native Danny Roberts for his IBMA award consideration. We are especially proud that he remembered his hometown and named his composition under consideration "Leitchfield”.

For those folks attending the competition this year we are being told that the Hatfield Inn hotel renovations should be complete and they will start taking reservations July 1st and should be open in time for the competition. If you're interested in staying there you would need to call them directly. Again, this is what we're being told and we certainly cannot guarantee anything but it is looking good. After this year’s Twin Lakes National Fiddler Championship competition completes, please plan to stay for a Free Concert on the Square featuring Leitchfield native fiddle player and musician Matt Flake and Friends, featuring John Cowan, Shawn Lane, Jessie Baker, and Dustin Benson. The concert starts immediately after the competition ends.

The contest will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Leitchfield, KY on the courthouse square starting at 9 am CDT in conjunction with the Leitchfield Fiddling Festival. For more information see

Contest Fiddle judges for the 59th Annual Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention are: Loretta Brank (TN), Ed Carnes (TN), Tim Hodgson (ID), Cassidy Koonce (AL), and Junior Marriott (MO).

The contest is held on the grounds of Athens State University, in Athens, AL on OCT 2 and 3, 2026 and the Fiddle winner will be named Tennessee Valley Fiddle Champion and Alabama State Fiddle Champion.

Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention offers family fun, fiddler contest, live music, great food, unique crafts, and a celebration of Southern heritage.
