Hey, folks!! We have been sitting on something very exciting that we are thrilled to share with you!!

We will be hosting a unique event for the housed members of our community to experience a night with Shoals Shelter - but as a guest.
This will be an immersive event that will allow you to see the shelter as a guest does, from intake to breakfast.
We will have cots for sleeping, meals prepared, and an intake officer to create an authentic shelter environment.

We will also invite you to participate in activities that will help you to see the unique and deep struggles that our guests face every day.

Our goal with this event is not just to fundraise (though we are grateful for that as well!) but to help our community understand the needs of our guests, gain a new empathy for what they experience, and engage with you throughout the night, answering any questions and addressing any concerns you may have.

The event is free to participate, but we ask that you register at the link below - we are operating the fundraiser like a fun run - join as a group or an individual, set a fundraising goal, and ask others to donate towards your stay.
There will be tiers of fundraising and guests that reach certain amounts will receive incentives, with the top fundraiser receiving a larger prize (stay tuned for more information about incentives!!)

Thank you to all who attended our “Boots, Bowls, & Bolognese” Handy Fest event the other week! Huge appreciation to the Shoals Chamber for coming out to do a ribbon cutting, Samantha Morris for facilitating a free line dancing class, Bethel Colbert Culinary Ministry for the delicious spaghetti lunch, and to the Town of Leighton and WZZA Radio for sponsoring! No need to buy lunch tomorrow! Join us for our “Boots, Bowls, & Bolognese” Handy Festival event tomorrow from 12-1:30PM!
