Kory Rabenold Expands Devil’s Last Laugh Haunted Attraction Into a New Era of Cinematic Horror
Lehighton, Pennsylvania — Devil’s Last Laugh Haunted Attraction, founded and creatively directed by Kory Rabenold, today announced the continued expansion of its flagship experience, The Walcksville Asylum, marking a major step forward in the evolution of one of Pennsylvania’s most ambitious independent haunted attractions.
Built inside a converted pole barn, Walcksville Asylum is designed as a fully immersive, story-driven haunted experience — not a traditional haunted house. Guests are transported into a decaying institutional nightmare where corrupted doctors, escaped patients, Mr. Pickles, and supernatural forces collide across multiple branching paths, cinematic environments, and interactive scare sequences.
Rabenold, a lifelong horror fan, fabricator, and entrepreneur, has spent years developing Devil’s Last Laugh into a multi-layered horror universe that blends cinematic set design with the raw intensity of immersive live entertainment.
“Devil’s Last Laugh isn’t just a haunted house — it’s a living world,” said Rabenold. “Every hallway, every room, every character is part of a larger story. When guests step inside The Walcksville Asylum, they’re not just walking through scares — they’re stepping into a horror film they get to experience in real life.”
The Devil’s Last Laugh property currently features multiple interconnected attractions, including the indoor Walcksville Asylum walkthrough and The Spread, an outdoor scare zone that expands the story beyond the walls of the asylum. New expansions planned for the coming seasons will introduce additional themed environments, new characters, and upgraded production elements, continuing to push the experience closer to full cinematic immersion.
Rabenold personally oversees every aspect of the attraction — from story development and set construction to lighting, sound design, and actor choreography — creating a cohesive vision rarely found in independent haunts. His scare actors bring the twisted world of Devil’s Last Laugh to life each season for thousands of guests.
