You can almost hear this photo!

If you’ve spent a weekend at ION, you know the feeling. As the Knights make their way through the gate, the building gets a little louder and the rink starts to come alive.

The Loudoun Knights have become a familiar part of hockey season, bringing a buzz to the building that’s hard to miss.

Want to experience it for yourself? Catch the Knights at ION every weekend.

Six weeks can be the start of something BIGGER!

For many skaters, Learn to Skate is their first real introduction to the ice. It’s where trying something new starts to feel familiar, where skills begin to click, and where skaters can discover just how much they enjoy being out there.

Some may eventually find their way into figure skating or hockey. Others may find a place they want to keep coming back to. Either way, every new session brings more skaters into the rink and gives them somewhere to begin.

Today, Session 2 starts that journey for a new group of skaters. Follow along over the next six weeks as we watch where it takes them.

We know Friday at ION rarely means one quick stop.

Between practices, games, and time on the ice, the rink has a way of becoming your Friday night. Starting October 16, Battlefield Bar & Grill will also be open on Fridays.

So when you need something between ice times or want to stick around a little longer, stop in for the updated menu, try one of our new protein smoothies, or grab a drink at the bar.

Now Friday nights at ION come with one more reason to stay.

ION has changed, and we’re grateful our community is noticing.

Under new management, we’ve been focused on creating a better experience throughout the rink, and hearing that difference reflected back by the people who spend their time here means a lot.

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but even more excited about what’s ahead.

Thank you to everyone who continues to skate, play, train, and call ION home.

There’s more to hockey development at ION than what happens between the boards.

Some of the work that supports athletes on the ice happens after the skates come off.

For athletes in TPH and select ION hockey programming, this training space is where that work continues. It gives athletes a place to build strength, sharpen their game, and keep developing beyond their time on the ice.

It’s a part of ION most people don’t get to see, but an important part of how our hockey athletes train and develop.

*This training space is reserved for TPH and designated ION hockey programming.

YOU’VE STILL GOT TIME TO GET IN THE GAME!

Adult Hockey registration at ION: The Rinks at Compass Creek has been extended through October 20, giving teams and free agents a little more time to lock in their spot for the season.

Once the puck drops on October 26, teams can expect a full season of competition with 20 guaranteed games, including regular-season and playoff matchups. Signing up on your own? Free agents and goaltenders are welcome, and we’ll help place you on a team.

Registration closes October 20, and additional league details will be sent to applicants once sign-ups are complete.

If you’ve been waiting to get back on the ice, now’s the time. Register through the link in our bio before the deadline.

At ION, your birthday is more than cake and candles!

It’s your day, so make it feel like yours. Bring your friends, hit the ice, then keep the celebration going with food, your own party space, and the extras that fit the kind of day you have in mind.

No two birthdays look exactly the same here, and that’s the whole point. Some are all about the skating. Others are about having everyone together in one place and making the celebration last a little longer.

However you want the day to feel, make it yours at ION.

ONE WEEK UNTIL WE PINK OUT THE RINK!

Next Friday, grab your skates, bring your friends, and spend the night making laps around ION with a little extra pink in the rink.

Public Skate is already one of the easiest ways to get everyone on the ice together, and for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re turning it pink. Wear your pink, join us for the night, and help fill the rink with color from 7-9 PM.

See you on the ice!

It’s always a special day when Ilia Malinin is back on the ice at ION.

Seeing him train on the same ice our community knows so well makes the moment even more meaningful. For the young skaters watching from the boards, it’s a chance to see where hard work and a real love for the sport can lead.

We’re incredibly grateful to Ilia for continuing to trust ION as a place to train and for the energy and inspiration he brings to our rink every time he returns.

Thank you, Ilia, for reminding our skating community what’s possible. We’re always proud to welcome you back to ION.

This could be your skater on October 17!

Take a look inside Learn to Skate at ION. Our classes follow the trusted Learn to Skate USA curriculum while still giving skaters room to learn at their own pace, laugh with their coaches, and enjoy being on the ice.

That mix of quality instruction and a supportive environment helps each skater build a strong foundation while staying excited to come back each week.

Our next session begins October 17. Learn more and register through our website!
