Completed second day of French Polishing. Starting to look shiny ✨. ** French polishing is a traditional, labor-intensive wood finishing technique that applies numerous thin layers of shellac dissolved in grain alcohol using a cloth pad lubricated with oil. Developed in the early 18th century, it produces a high-gloss, deep-color, and, warm,, smooth surface often used on fine furniture and musical instruments, such as violins And guitars.

Finished pore filling and Sanding back to 400 grit. Located the bridge, taped off. Started base coats of French Polish.

Catch up post as did short work sessions during the last couple weeks. 1; closed the box. 2: trim routed 3: routed and installed bindings and purfling 4: sanded the bindings 5: cut and installed neck. Next up is to set the neck angle and pore fill the back and sides.
