After the fourth of July this year celebrate America’s 250th Birthday by learning about some of the women artists from early American history who helped shape our culture and preserve traditional American arts and crafts practices. I’m so excited to be hosting this art journaling workshop at Studio 101 and hope you’ll be able to join me there on July 5th for coffee and pastries, doodling, decorating, and appreciating these amazing women whose stories have been underrepresented in our history books for far too long.
From 11-1pm you’ll settle into this cozy and well-curated space, enjoy some free-flowing and open-ended creative time with art journaling (when was the last time you embraced creative play?), and listen to an informal history lesson about five female artists you may have never heard of. Let’s reclaim these stories! Each attendee will receive an envelope with images of selected works from each artist’s portfolio, to incorporate into your own art-making if you so choose. Tickets are $40 to join in, if you have a journal you’d like to do your art in feel free to bring it! If not I will have a few journals available for purchase there. Tickets through Studio 101’s Humanitix profile, see the 🔗 in our bio!
