Nintendo has confirmed that it has no plans to abandon physical game releases, reassuring fans that physical media will remain part of its gaming strategy.
Bill van Zyll, Nintendo’s Vice President and General Manager for Latin America, explained that the company takes consumer preferences seriously and recognizes how much fans continue to value physical games.
“We have no plans to abandon physical media. We know how much fans also enjoy it,” van Zyll said.
The statement comes as the gaming industry continues shifting toward digital distribution, with concerns growing over the future of physical game ownership. Nintendo’s latest comments reaffirm its commitment to giving players a choice between physical and digital releases on the Nintendo Switch 2.
For collectors and players who still prefer owning physical copies, Nintendo has made its position clear. Physical games are not going anywhere for now.
