Friday night, we had the privilege to honor our good friend, Rev. Walter P. Snyder, by singing at his visitation.
Besides being a husband to our member Stephanie, he was a beloved chorus roadie. He was always there warming a couch cushion, ready to help with anything we could ask of him. Walt was a great companion to have along, always showing his love for his wife and the chorus.
He chose the songs we sang for him on Friday, and we were joined by Stephanie and her daughter Laura, a member of Houston Horizon Chorus, for “How We Sang Today."
Walt, we love you, and you will be sorely missed. Rest easy, friend.

Congratulations to Kelsey Kessler, a 2026 Spirit of the Midwest Hall of Fame inductee! Her exceptional work on membership growth and retention on the chapter and Sweet Adelines International Region 5 levels make this recognition well deserved. A Sweet Adeline for 37 years, she is a member of both the Kansas City and Show Me Sound choruses. Currently she is KCC Membership Coordinator, Show Me Sound Team Coordinator and Region 5 Membership Coordinator. Among her accomplishments, Kelsey has facilitated THRIVE, an SAI program that provides chapters with monetary awards for membership milestones, and she began a plan for RMT members to be liaisons for each chapter. Thank you for all you do, Kelsey! We could not get by without you. ❤️

Sassy Award surprise appearance!
Gina Ray received the basket 2 years ago for her expertise with chorus fundraisers. She has passed the Sassy Award Basket to Team Leader Liddy Olas-Miller who has worked tirelessly at fundraisers and as our president on behalf of the chorus.

SASSY stands for Sweet Adeline Superstar — Yay! The tradition of giving the Sassy Award was started in 1986. While Sassy’s looks have changed through the years, the idea has remained the same — to honor a member for their kindness, thoughtfulness or hard work.

Part of the tradition is to add something to the basket. Gina's mother Phyllis Ray, who introduced her to the Sweet Adelines, passed away a year ago so Gina added her mom's chorus name tag in her memory.

Now it's Liddy's turn to find the next awardee and have another surprise appearance!
