Mia Bruce

Mia Bruce I spent 2+ years building Posh Pup on the side before quitting corporate to run it full time.

Now I'm teaching other women how to do the same — and sharing the whole process as I go.

I genuinely feel SO privileged with how supportive my husband has been on my small business journey. He’s never batted an eye at my wild hopes and dreams. Time to get to work so I can take him on a trip to celebrate his birthday properly 🥰

I kid you not I’m sitting at my desk answering emails when all of a sudden I hear a crinkling noise. I turned around and of course it’s my Charlie munching on a leaf??? Lol

This is your sign to search for local quilt and fabric shops in your area!! Do you think I can make a little makeup bag? I really only have very basic sewing skills, but I’m in the mood for a fun project and I have a little list of things I want to try making!

Justice for the PSL Pup Cup Bandana 😭 I totally was not expecting this to be the one coming in last place, but here we are! Have you ever had a product or design you were super excited about totally end up failing?

It took a year for me to decide I was fine waiting for someone else to decide what I was worth. Now I’m giving myself a year to out-earn that salary on my own. Some weeks I believe I can do it, but more often than not my body is still in panic mode at 10am because it thinks I need to be working at 7am.

I’m documenting the whole thing here! What’s working, what I’m still figuring out, what I’m struggling with. All of it from the messy middle, not the finish line.

I’m gonna say it….I think some of you are too worried about making the exactly perfect amount of inventory and unfortunately there is just no such thing. It’s inevitable at some point you’ll either sell out entirely or have leftover inventory on your hands.

For me, I usually have some leftover. But in my mind, I’m not just thinking about my business right here and now, I’m thinking long term. I will still be trying with everything I’ve got to be in business a year from now. In which case, having this seasonal inventory saved and stored away will actually help me have a head start the following year!

Are you panicking over extra inventory? I hope this changes your perspective!

I present to you my final video in my little mini series making dog bandanas. I hope you enjoying coming along for the ride as much as I did sharing it! Don’t worry, more bandana making content coming very soon (I still have a lot from making 200+ fall bandanas)!

Anyways make sure you’re following for more realistic small business behind the scenes content. Let me know what questions you have on my fall launch!

It’s normal to be scared!!! But imagine telling yourself “one day…” and then one day comes and goes and now you have to sit with the regret of never trying?

Trying and failing is better than never trying at all. And I know you’re asking yourself “what if I fail?” But why don’t you ask “what if I succeed?” Or “what if I have fun?” Or “what if I totally transform my life?” My favorite “what if things brings me joy for the first time in years?

Stop looking for all the worst possible outcomes and start dreaming about the best ones! 💓

P.S. this post isn’t about flowers.

We all struggle with comparison from time to time, but here’s a gentle reminder that we’re all on our own unique journey. Don’t compare whatever day you’re on to anyone else. You aren’t behind, you’re exactly where you need to be. Just keep going 💓
